This train was built in 1923 at the Baldwin Locomotive works and first used in service in 1925 for heavy freight across the Rocky mountains in Colorado and New Mexico for the Rio Grande Southern and Denver Rio Grande Western Railroad. Later then retired in 1979 and then Back in service to the Durango and Silverton Narrow Gauge Railroad in 1984 for passenger excursion to this day.
