ATSF 2926 was originally built in 1943 for Streamliner Passenger service with the Aitchison Topeka and Santa Fe Railroad. Shorty 3 years after she was put into service, WWII came and the 2926 was put to work in freight by hauling Military equipment Contracted by the US Army. After 20 years as a freight and Passenger engine she came to rest in what is now the Albuquerque Railroad park where it sat for over 50 years. In 2001, the New Mexico Railroad society came and restored the 70 year old engine and is still to this day in Albuquerque New Mexico. They are doing donations and events for hopefully one day restoring the locomotive for it being one of the last 4-8-4 steam locomotives in the US.
