[ annabeth's parade ] Darkness. It engulfs her completely, but the tribute doesn't appear to mind. She's perfectly comfortable sitting in her cage, chained not by the Peacekeepers, but rather her own frail, little heart. Freedom is out there, beyond this black curtain, and yet, Annabeth would remain unmoving, sapphire blue eyes blinking slowly through the shadows. /Seventeen. Sixteen. Fifteen. Fourteen. Thirteen./ With little to preoccupy her, the feline had been counting down from a hundred since her chariot lined up behind--what, a dozen others, perhaps? She does not know the answer for once. Softly huffing, Annabeth grows impatient by the minute. The people's cheers, they are heard by the female long before sunlight greets her guised face, and as the trumpets blow, the chariot jolts to life, following the sound of hoof-steps, one after another. It's like being young again. "Mhmmm... the show's beginning." She rises to her paws, illuminated by the faint light of her costume. However, other than that, the rest of her is almost one with the darkness. Eight districts have gone by. Now, for the ninth. The loud clapping, those joyful cries, and voices make her world spin on its axis. Everything grows louder. And louder. After what seemed like eons of sitting there and waiting for her stylist to finish--then, getting ushered to the chariots, this was... quite the experience to say the least. "Where's the tribute!?" Still hidden behind the draped cloth, Annabeth flashes a dangerous smile. /Not yet. Not yet./ Seconds pass, and soon, the curtains open to reveal the ominously, glowing figure of District 9's tribute, though most of her /true/ face remains safely hidden in the shadows. Even so, the female stands tall, with her head raised. "What they speak of the Capitol is true as they say, hmm," She glances sideways and tilts her head towards the audience, raising her voice to a triumphant cry. "I hope to see you all very, very soon, lovelies! Take care of yourselves because you're all in for a twist this round!" The curtain flies off as her horse-drawn chariot nears the end, revealing the tribute underneath. She grins good-naturedly, waving to the audience once more before disappearing from their eyes entirely.
