On your chariot, you parade through the dark moonlight, the runway only lit up by the faces of your supporters, carrying glowsticks as neon lights dance in front of your eyes. They scream and cheer for you, shouting and smiling as each District's chariot barrels down the runway. You sigh a breath of relief as your carriage disappears behind the curtains. But soon, you realize that your performance is not over. As your chariot is revealed, cats line the street, awaiting your arrival patiently. You burst from the other side of the scarlet curtains; and when they see you, the streets erupt with roaring applause. Holographic supporters run up to your chariot, some begging for your attention as their virtual avatars phase through it. Festival carts and virtual food is being given to the wealthiest of cats in the Capitol. After all, these cats have paid a hefty sum to be here, supporting their favorite tributes. The streets are packed as the cats dance and mingle amongst themselves. A cat wearing the Capitol crest seems to be writing in a notepad. Blue eyes follow you with intense interest, their fervent writing nearly sparking flames. A passing face in a holographic horde, but one that is worth acknowledging. Light pollution clouds your vision as loud music plagues your ears... but you feel a sense of happiness. You feel light, as if all of your worries have faded... and then, you return to your curtain. And the sounds of the lively festival cease, leaving only silence in your midst. Basically you're writing a short excerpt based off of the prompt/description provided about your character. Parades are essentially the way your tribute debuts into society. You will be graded off of a hidden rubric out of 5, based on how much the Capitol enjoyed your tribute's performance. [ This is not based off of writing ability etc, just on our rubric and how much the Capitol would be fond of your tribute. ] Parades will be due by Tuesday, Jan 23rd. Don't forget to REMIX this project, otherwise your Parade won't be graded (it'd be nice to have your tribute's name in the title as well!)
