REMINDER: this is CATS10760’s story. I only edited the grammar. Finally got a good thumb! Heyo! I’m CAT ❤️! I’m making a story and I need input so I can improve it! Any input that you give me, I will appreciate very much! Thank you! (Yay constructive criticism!! XD) The whole story is about a girl named Quinn, who has anxiety and depression. She just moved to TN, and she met a friend named Freedom. Together, they try to get rid of Quinn’s A & D. (you will know what the letters mean once you read the first chapter) Oki so uh, some notes before we begin: I know that anxiety is more of a “what if”, and depression is basically sadness. I was just REALLY bad at writing for the first chapter, so... “be nice” for me please... Oki so uh, here it is, lemme know what you think please! Chapter 1 Quinn opened the door to her new room. Her sheet less bed was in the corner, and boxes were everywhere. They were in the middle of moving to Nashville, Tennessee. Mom had said that this place was where most country singers had started out. (She was in love with the country singer Dolly Parton and often listened to her music whenever she could). Quinn looked around at her new room for a moment, put down the last box, and flopped down on the mattress that was currently her bed. She could tell someone was creeping up on her. “A, D, I know you’re there. come out,” said Quinn. A and D were from Quinn’s imagination, They were kind of like imaginary friends, but different. A stood for anxiety, and D for depression. She also had her “buddy” S, for sadness, and H for happiness. H sadly didn’t get to see her often. Quinn often imagined that all of her “friends”, who were mostly her feelings, had bodies and brains and stuff like that. Quinn started believing that “they” were real when in kindergarten one of her friends asked her if feelings were real. Quinn said, “Yes of course.” And her friend answered with, “then how come we can’t see them then?? It’s not like they have bodies or anything!” That got Quinn thinking and decided to give them bodies and name them. Of course, she never thought of real names for them. She usually just called them by the first letter they stood for. It was easier to remember and it did help her learn her letters in kindergarten so she had no complaints. They all often follow Quinn around, but some are more distant and sometimes disappear when she’s not feeling that feeling. A, a big blob of blackness, with white eyes and mouth, and D, also a big blob of blackness with white eyes and mouth, but was more human-shaped, came out of their hiding spots from under the boxes. “Quinn. There you are. We missed you,” said D. “Hi,” Quinn answered unhappily. “Looks like we’re staying for a while! I’ll bet there’s a whole spider nest under the bed and a thousand monsters in the closet,” said A. Quinn looked under the bed and found dust. She got up and looked in the closet and found more boxes. “Liar,” she said. “They’re all just hiding from you,” said A. “They’ll come in your sleep to get you.” Even though it was her own thought and knew there was nothing, she was still scared. Quinn looked around nervously, and found something out of its box. “What’s this?” She said mostly to herself, as she picked up a comic book entitled, “Sunshine the H.O.U. Master of the universe”. She flipped through the book real quick, and disgusted, threw it down. “Not a good book? Or do you love us too much?” Asked A. Quinn looked up and out the only window in her room, obviously frustrated. She could see a house with a window facing her’s, and in the window, a girl about her age, staring at her. The girl had straight, long auburn hair, tied up in a ponytail, and was wearing a blue hoodie. When she noticed that Quinn was looking at her, she stopped staring and smiled at her kindly.
