Instructions

This is just for fun. If you don't want to use my character I won't be in any way offended, but it'd be kind of cool to see her in someone else's series. I have never seriously tried this art style before. Usually I have lines in my art. Learning to not use them took effort. I hope my inexperience doesn't show too much. If you want me to be the one to look for a voice actor, I can do that, although I'm not sure if I can spare the time. Then and again, I managed to spare a couple of hours to throw this sign up together. The backstory about /why/ she's in [insert location of series] and not Australia is a very quick mash-up job. You can either take massive creative liberties with the unresolved details or drop it entirely, I don't mind that much. If you choose to use her, I've included a sprite that includes a version of her design that should be fairly easy to repose as needed, and a few extra angles and suchlike. Oh, and she's 17 years old, which completely coincidentally also happens to be my age. Although seeing the age of other proposed characters I think I may bump it up to 19.

Description

I've just realised that out of the existing backstories for submitted characters so far, two-thirds of them would be highly stressful/traumatic for the characters involved. I realise that this makes for powerful storytelling that can make for audiences developing close emotional ties with the characters in a story, but still find it somewhat puzzling that, on a website intended for kids, in writing a backstory for my character which isn't too distressing* I'm deviating from standard practice. Especially as I'm definitely pushing the upper age bracket for standard Scratch users, so if anything I'm in the demographic more likely to do this. *Arguably, having a close family member leaving your family and subsequently being told he's no longer alive /is/ distressing. In my defence, I heartily dislike this part of the backstory and will be rewriting it as soon as my exams are over. It does not fit with my perception of Angua. It must go.
