Excerpt: (Beginning of chapter 2 of Part Time Ghost, an Underworld Office fanwork ^-^) ----------- “We were beginning to think you weren’t coming.” River sat on his bed watching him, “But that got me off work so take your time.” She winked and threw herself off and onto the floor. Eugene watched. “I thought since I was a worker now instead of an intern you might all let me get there on my own? I know my way and I’m a ghost so it’s not like much is going to happen anyway?” “You think Boss would let you go out on your own. Nah, he’d kill us all again before that happened. He’s been annoying as hell with you not getting your homework as well. Thought you’d ran off and I was trying cover it up. As if I would do that!” She growled. “That does sound like something you’d do.” “Oh shut up you.” She gave a gentle slap to his arm before climbing out the windowsill, “Just because it’s true it doesn’t mean he had to say it. Now hurry up. We don’t have all night!” River collapsed out of the window. She couldn’t die again but Eugene still dashed to the make sure she hadn’t fallen onto the metal bins on accident. Upon seeing her floating body he sighed and swung round the edge himself. Ghost physics had not once been explained to him. They had considered it useless seeing as Eugene was only supposedly going to work three nights. Flying was an art no one had taught him and considering River was pretending to lie in the rubbish he would not be getting her help any time soon. Below him was a one floor drop. It wouldn’t kill him if he was alive assuming he fell right. A broken leg would be the worse he got. As a ghost, he could go through the floor. He really had to ask Boss or Joan or River or Hayden about that. -------------
