The shadows began to form into something, or that's what it looked like. Troutfreckle realized a cat was emerging from the darkness, as black as the shadows themselves. Another cat quickly padded after her. The black one did some confusing signals with her tail and paws at the second cat, who nodded and looked at Troutfreckle and Spottedfern. "I'm Glitter, and this is our leader, Ebony." The she-cat mewed. "Our?" Troutfreckle growled. As if on cue, cats began to emerge from the shadows. Troutfreckle counted. Six. He could take on six cats, right? "Fionn?" Spottedfern mewed. He glanced at her. She was staring at a golden she-cat, who had three kits in the curve of her tail. A ginger tom growled at Spottedfern. "How do you know my mate?" He snapped. Spottedfern looked knowing. Fionn looked guilty. Troutfreckle was annoyed. "May we stay here for the night?" He mewed, keeping his annoyance out of his voice. Ebony did the signals again. Glitter nodded and said. "You can stay here... forever."
