Instructions

ATTENTION: If you get bad performance or any visual glitches, click the game window and then press Ctrl+M to disable Stage3D. (Scroll down for table of contents) News: I've begun work on a complete re-write of this game, and I leave it for the Scratch community to finish if they so choose (link below). This game originally started as a small project that got bigger and bigger, so it was never really designed properly for expansion and modification, making it very difficult to edit and debug even for me, the one who built it from the ground up! In the re-write, everything in the code is carefully named and compartmentalized. It is also supposed to be easy to change the player and boss characters by copying and modifying their sprites. Feel free to remix and continue on with the project: https://scratch.mit.edu/projects/97916907/ Table of Contents: 1.) Overview 2.) Controls 3.) Recommended Hand Position 4.) Game Settings & Difficulty Options 5.) Improving Performance ------------------------------------- 1.) Description: Fight Nightmare Zero and defeat him. Prepare yourself for a tough fight. Even though he's not the real Zero, but an imperfect clone, he's a force to be reckoned with! What he lacks in power and form, he makes up for with under-handed tactics, like random speed, crazy attacks! 2.) Controls: Arrow keys - Move right, left, crouch (or Jump, depending on your settings, see below) Spacebar - Jump (hold/tap to control height) D key - Dash (press while jumping off a wall to do a dash wall jump!) X key - X Buster, hold to charge Z key - Slash with the Z-Saber, does a combo attack on the ground 3.) Recommended Finger layout: Have your right hand on the arrow keys, and your left hand as follows- Thumb on Space Bar, pinkie on the Z key, ring finger resting on the X key, and the middle finger resting on the D key. That's how I play it (me being the project author). 4.) Game Settings and Difficulty Options - These are for the settings in the Options menu on the first page -- Flash Effects - These are the sprite flash effects that use brightness settings. I like how they look, but they increase lag sometimes, so you can turn them off with this. Auto-Charge - Helps with control. You charge up automatically if not pressing X. The charge effect does not always display correctly however. Double-Tap Dash - Dash just by double-tapping the arrow keys in the appropriate direction, so you don't have to use the D key. Jump Key - 1 is use the Space Bar to jump, 2 is use the Up arrow key. Beware, you can only have one button set at a time, not both! Difficulty -- Normal - Normal game settings. Play this first. Xtreme - Most notable change here is that NZ has about double the HP. He also attacks slightly faster in some ways, his shockwaves are slightly bigger, and he adds 2 new attacks at under half HP, the Phantom Slash, and the Genmurei Kai. 5.) Performance Tips: - Most glitches and bad performance are caused for me by Stage3D being enabled, try switching it off by clicking the project window and then pressing Ctrl+M - Turn off the Flash Effects in "Settings" - Have only have one browser window open with only ONE tab - Check in task manager to make sure your CPU and RAM isn't all used up - Use the Offline Player, or do some hax & stuff and convert my project to an .exe file and play it that way - Try playing in a different browser, I hear Chrome isn't good for flash games.
