Petalkit was shivering. "Leaf-bare is so c-cold!" She squeaked. Windrider, her mother bristled. "Yes, Petalkit, it is." She whispered. Petalkit suddenly screeched with pain and fear. Windrider whipped around to see Deepwater, the medicine cat. But Deepwater wasn't acting like himself. There was an insanity in his eyes... one that made Petalkit shriek louder. Brindleclan's medicine cat had caught the curse. The curse was something that made cats go wild, and k¡ll they’re own kits. The camp was cursed by Shiningslayer 136 moons ago. Deepwater advanced on her. He was about to k¡ll her when Windrider threw herself forward. “Take me!” She pleaded. “Leave Petalkit alone!” Deepwater paused. “I will take her away and you will never see her again, or she can die in my claws. Take the offer or leave it.” Windrider said, “Deal.” “Don’t Mom!” Petalkit shouted, but she was already being swept away…up into the unknown.
