This is more of a "Hey look how far I've come" than an actual "I feel like I'm doing too much/not enough" project. If you didn't know (somehow) I've actually been a Scratcher for QUITE a long time (7 years on September 8th), and even better, I've never removed ANY projects ever (except for the few that got taken down because of one dumb thing or another). My point is, one look from before 2023, to 2023, to now and it becomes clear I've "improved" over the years, as most people do. However, I am a little worried I'm overdoing it a little bit. While yes, some of the new or updated designs are just better, I also feel like sometimes I'm just fixing a non issue. I mean, it's obvious I've gotten better and art, animation, even character design. Just look at some of the old designs for my characters. Cyan looks way better now than back then, Marco and Luca actually look like Mario characters, Stardust has never looked better, hell Drake and Eavth used to be ugly and Jes was barely any different from the male characters, but look at them now. That's not to say everyone was a necessity, and I'll be honest, some of the designs were a bit of an accident. Doc looked fine before, Bomb only changed slightly, Marco and Luca's newest looks are a struggle to use, Corruption lost his eyes (well not really but he hides them a lot more) I'm sure I'm just overthinking the whole "am I going to far?" point, but for some of these characters it just feels like I didn't change much and got praised for it. I mean yes there were some big changes, Jade isn't ugly anymore, Vibi got some pants (and a new relationship), Yella looks really darn cool, hell Dark used to be an oversized stick figure and now he looks AMAZING! I know I've come a long way, and the whole profile is proof of that... but I still wonder, have I gone to far? Am I still going to far? When does the "redesigning" end?
All this to say, "hey you there, let me ask you something, do you prefer some of the older looks or are you a fan of the newer looks? Or are you mixed, like some but find others weird?" In reality, I know at one point in my Scratching time, I was a complete nobody. Technically everyone was, but my time stretched out for quite a while, so if you don't remember some of the older looks, that is perfectly fine. However, if you do remember what these characters used to look like, please tell me, do you prefer the older looks, or am I changing for the better? Oh and if you're wondering, these three looks before you are the most used from my profile, from left to right: My most common look from before 2023, before I was really good at walk and run animations (and after I stopped redrawing myself for every project) My 2023 look, the first time I (and anyone else) got a bit of an update My 2024 look, the current look that shall hopefully stick with me from now on
