okay so. my art motivation just in general is nonexistent rn, so there isnt much. only the sketch of what would have been reasonably cool art, a first draft of one part of the animatic(press 1 to show this, warning for violence, its how they got the scar on their face), a doodle+sounds for what would have been the ending bit after the animatic(press 2 to show this), and story stuff(located in notes and credits)
design/dta by @pixelJay- pt 1: https://scratch.mit.edu/projects/996821958/ this was originally gonna be part 1 but since i didnt finish it i decided it would better for it to not be (i still dont have a name- gonna [] for any places that would need name) [] used to live in a kingdom, they were raised in the royal family, though [] is uncertain if they were born into it. at the heart of the kingdom was an ancient tree filled with magic. its roots were spread throughout the capital, filling the earth around it with life. when an heir to the kingdom was of age, they would receive a small cutting of the tree, and would carry it for the rest of their life. one day []'s older brother would secretly bring them to the tree(it was hidden at some point, with an old path in the castle leading to it(very old, a little cracked, filled with moss and vines)), and he gave them a couple of leaves to wear despite [] being far too young for the actual ceremony. old stories exist of a corrupted being that used to roam the land, but was locked away deep in the earth where it could never cause harm again. the prison seems to have become faulty with time, as []'s brother would be approached by a shadow of this being.(this is the last of the coherent thought i can put in normal words so im just gonna use bullet points now) - at some point(probably right before the "getting a cutting from the tree" ceremony(i dont have a name for that)) []'s brother goes missing, for long enough that they're old enough to start being taught how to rule the kingdom - being taught how to rule a kingdom is Very Stressful - this all goes on for a few years([] is very much still a kid at this point though) - one day [] is just wandering around and hears panic. they go to investigate and see a big crowd surrounding what looks like the king, with splatters of blood on the ground. they are pulled back before they can get a clear view, and end up rushing away from the scene - they run into the path to the tree, and there they find... their brother - (i cant words good for this but- he seems different. like somethings really off. he's saying stuff- i cant words it rn. this was gonna be part of the animatic so in that it would've been going along with the song ;w;) - []'s brother holds a piece of the tree in his paw, but it withers away - basically he got corrupted by the being and that corruption killed the magic in the piece of the tree he was holding - a shadowed figure attacks [], their brother does nothing to stop it - [] barely manages to escape, getting a nasty wound on their snout(this is the one part of the animatic i did) - they knock down a torch while running away, which lights the tunnel's overgrowth on fire. this blocks the shadowy figures path - [] gets back into the castle grounds, where it is more chaotic then they left it - lots of fire and destruction around - they run out of the capital, out of the kingdom, as far as they can go. away from everything they've ever known - they grow up on the run, at some point getting a skull that they wear almost constantly - they kept the leaves they got when they were a child - at some point they return to the kingdom, now ruined, to find.. they arent sure. their brother? the tree? answers? - [] sneaks through the capital, their home, but ends up being found and attacked - they arent helpless anymore though, so they fight - at some point between fighting, running, and flying, they end up back at the tree - it seems very withered now, barely clinging to life and lacking the magic it used to have - [] takes branches from the tree, like they would have done if the kingdom had remained for them to grow up in - they are found again by their attackers. strangers, nobody that [] remembers - except for one, in the shadows. it looks like their brother but.. he's different. so much different. corrupted - they arent sure if he even recognizes them anymore - [] escapes the battle, leaving their old home behind once more - they're out in the world again, without purpose or direction. there is no future to look forward to. their brother knows that they survived now, he may come looking. they must be careful not to be found
