After my parents died, I guess I kind of started thinking of her as my mother figure." - Backstory - Hornetkit was born in a litter of five kits alongside his siblings Antkit, Butterflykit, Dragonflykit, and Mothkit. He and Mothkit snuck out of camp one day to explore outside of camp, but Mothkit was bit by a snake, which Hornetkit killed, and died. Later that moon, Antkit died by eating deathberries, which just added to Hornetkit's grief.
- Backstory Continued - He eventually got over his sadness with the help of some of the kits in camp and Creamstar, but he always will remember his brother and sister. Only two moons after Antkit and Mothkit died, the unbearable happened. The clan hadn't been hunting as much as they ought to have been, and every warrior except Tappershield died from starvation. His heart shattered into a million pieces again. He really was all alone. All he had left were his two sisters who he didn't have as much of a connection with as he did with his other family. He felt destroyed, no one could understand the depth of his pain. There was no one left who understood him. No one left that cared for him more than the natural friendship or sibling bond. No one who to love him. He came up with a plan, if Shadowpaw liked Wolfpaw more, he’d win her love from him. Before Hornetpaw could put his plan into motion his sister, Butterflypaw, was killed. Her death, mixed with the anger that had been seething in his heart took the plan to a drastic turn. He decided to instead, try to kill Wolfpaw. So, one day he met Wolfpaw down at the training hollow and confronted him. He attacked, but wasn't able to land any blows before Wolfpaw slashed his back. He fell unconcious due to blood loss and pain from his wound, and the fight ended. When he woke up in the Medics' Den, he met with the Medic's apprentice, Sunpaw. Sunpaw scolded him, like most everyone else who came to see him, but he helped. While he was in the Medics' Den, he apologized to Wolfpaw and made friends with him. After a while in the Medics' Den and a lot of bonding with Sunpaw during what they called 'cuddle time' he finally became a warrior and got the suffix 'charm'. He was finally all grown up. He felt bad that his other family never got to see him and Dragonflywing become warriors, but he was going to be a great warrior, for them. In his first two moons as a warrior he argued with Fennelwing and he attacked Greypaw. Greypaw had accused him of liking Sunpaw and he was still not letting himself feel that way about him because he was afraid of accidentally hurting him like he did with Sha. Greypaw wouldn't leave him alone, and his anger tooke control and he lashed out at Greypaw. Greypaw ended up getting a scratch over the eyes and after he brooke a branch off a tree and took himself and Hornetcharm down with it, he broke his leg. Hornetcharm had injured one of his back legs, but he was still able to fight unlike Greypaw so he won the fight. Sunpaw was furious when he found all this out and Hornet felt guilty and sorry for what he did. After he attacked Greypaw, he and Sunpaw talked. While talking he started crying and Sunpaw let him use his shoulder to cry on. Later on, when Sunpaw was about to be given his Medics' name, Hornetcharm snuck into the Twolegplace and stole a flower, a blue columbine, for Sunpaw. He took Sunpaw with him out of camp and told him how he felt for him. He gave him the flower, and Sunpaw had said yes. Sunpaw told him that when he got his name later that day, he would promise to become Hornetcharm's mate. Life was pretty good after that, he talked to Lilycharm where she gave him a cute little ring of woven flowers and sticks that he could put behind his ear. His happiness didn't last long though, because a sinister evil was about to come, one that would pierce his heart like a thorn and leave him to decide who he cared about more. His clan, or his family? Cloudedglade, the long dead shade, came to everyone in a dream, and told them that he would take their Medics. And unless they gave him 300 exp and took two of Creamstar's lives, he would keep them forever. And as a bonus, a sickness was spread around. It wasn't contagious, but no one knew how to stop it. In the morning when the clan cats woke, their Medics wouldn't do the same. They were in a coma of some sort. Alive, but not moving or waking. It shattered hornet's heart like when you drop a glass plate, breaking it into a million pieces. The love of his live, Sunwish, wouldn't wake up. He was in an unbreakable slumber. And then he got the mystery sickness. And he knew there would be no help with it, the Medics were gone. For a couple of moons cats fought about things and there were multiple attacks on Creamstar. Only one of her lives got taken in those first moons though. After then Sunwish was able to visit him In his dreams, and that gave him that little comfort that kept him from becoming a little ball of sadness. He promised he would try to stay out of trouble after fighting Hopepaw after she’d said that Sunwish would most likely die. He kind of liked her before, but no one says anything like that about his mate. Hopepaw died after trying to kill Creamstar, but not before Hornetcharm could apologize to her. She died right in front of his eyes, and she died as his friend, and that just made it hurt all the more. (To be continued...)
