Using smaller horses, with far greater stamina than horses used in Europe, his forces could outrun any other horsemen. Using tactics and his superiority in horsepower, using bows while riding, he would soon be a world power. Song Dynasty (China): The Song dynasty, had won a war against ten other dynasties, it lead china into a “golden” age, increasing its economy and influence across the land. However as time progresses they have lost power to the south, and to the north against the Khmer Empire and the Jin Empire. Ayyubid dynasty (Saladin): Established by Saladin in Eygpt, his brilliant strategy and his men’s undying faith and determination lead to Jerusalem becoming his and under Muslim control. Soon the fifth crusade will test his nations courage against the western kingdoms. Byzantine Empire: The 4th crusade was lead to sack Constantinople, the great city was taken by northern powers, this significantly weakened the empire even after getting their capital back. To the south the Ayyubid dynasty threatens them and to the East the Ilkhanate empire threatens them, already invading. They are at a significant disadvantage, but they still control the unbreakable city of Constantinople. Kievan Rus: Kievan Rus was established by the Scandinavian powers during the Viking era, it turned into a power house economicly by connecting the north to the south with its trade in Constantinople. Crown of Castile: Crown of Castile was a ruling power in modern day Spain, while not particularly power in the 1200s it will soon flourish and become Spain. It was founded when a Islamic general took the city of Delhi and declared himself a independent Sultan, they hold a large power. Japan: Japan has just established its famous feudalism government, under the Kamakura shogunate in 1192. It has Samurai, and great warriors, but lacks much of its own culture using China as an example, but soon it will completely separate. Khmer Empire: The Khmer Empire was a Hindu-Buddhist empire in Southeast Asia, centered around hydraulic cities in what is now northern Cambodia, it has great builders and a powerful army, it threatens the Song dynasty in the north, and will later known for repelling Mongolia’s invasions. Jin Empire: The Jin dynasty, officially known as the Great Jin, was an imperial dynasty of China that existed between 1115 and 1234. Because the Wanyan clan that founded the dynasty were of Jurchen descent, it is also sometimes called the Jurchen dynasty or the Jurchen Jin. During the early 1200s it had a considerable military and is very resilient in the Mongolian invasions, at least at first. Tibetans: The Tibetan Empire once was powerful and strong, even forcing the Tang dynasty to give them power, but later a war over succession would lead to its destruction. The period that followed, known traditionally as the Era of Fragmentation, was dominated by rebellions against the remnants of imperial Tibet and the rise of regional warlords Kingdom of Poland, Kingdom of Hungry, Kingdom of Lithuania These European nations all fight in the crudsades, and are major powers, although compared to the East they are relatively weak and more stable. However, infighting still occurs between these nations. Frankish Kingdoms: France is a power in Europe and has taken control of the Italian peninsula, although only partially, it is chaotic and unstable. England: England in this time controls Normandy, and has considerable power over Europe, but at this time is not doing anything particularly interesting. Holy Roman Empire: During this time it was a superpower in Central Europe, although it only controls parts of Italy at the time, it is very powerful, lots of smaller lords serve the king/emperor of the nation.
