Sonic was walking beside Starlight throughout the halls of the palace. They were talking and just getting to know each other. Sonic was enjoying the soft personality Starlight possessed and Starlight liked how Sonic always seemed so confident in every word he said from this mouth. Even his cockiness does sometimes get in the way but it didn't bother her. Eventually, Sonic led Starlight to where some of his friends were and he encouraged her to talk to them. She agreed and went straight on. She noticed that Silver and Shadow were the two Sonic wanted her to talk to. Though Shadow was the quiet one, he does respond sometimes. Starlight smiled at the two of them and joined in the conversation. "Hey guys!" she exclaimed. Silver's attention was caught and Shadow's ears perked up in interest but he didn't react way too much. "Oh, Your Majesty. I-I wasn't expecting your presence right now so may I- Um, here Queen!" Silver unexpectedly spawned a bright blue Victorian era dress and rapidly handed it to Starlight as a gift. Shadow was stunned by what Silver just did. He didn't expect him to just give her anything like that. It only made him guess that Silver thought that Starlight was someone remarkable. She was special in everyone's eyes since all the courage she has inside of her heart and all of the careful planning she did in order to save Sonic and everyone else who became Nova X's victims to her undead servantary. Shadow scoffed a little at Silver and Starlight. "Oh great, I suppose that means I should've brought something for you as well, Your Highness." Silver turned at Shadow in astonishment at his response. "You didn't bring her a 'thank you' gift?! She literally saved you from being undead and being under control by her mom! How could you?" "Sonic never said to bring something for the Queen. So you are gonna have to complain to Sonic to be more detailed about what he wants us to do next time." Shadow crossed his arms, glaring at Silver a bit. "Sure, I'll talk to him about it. Anyways, did you have anything to tell Queen Starlight? A thank you for saving us maybe?" Silver questioned. "Hmph, thanks for saving us...Your Majesty. You did great for going many miles for us." Shadow addressed Starlight. It was as if Shadow isn't used to all of these mannerisms that were in this situation. "Aw, you're welcome. This is my kingdom that I rule so I would have to do all I can to ensure tranquility for it." Starlight replied, awkwardly smiling so she would show that she wasn't trying to brag. Silver reflected back Starlight's smile and decided to hang out with her for the rest of his time. Shadow just went back to Sonic. "Oh hey Shads! Has anything good happened to you and Starlight?" Sonic asked. Shadow sat down next to Sonic. He let out a slight chuckle. "You can say that. She's a natural at making Silver overjoyed." Shadow answered Sonic. He turned and looked at Shadow with surprised emotion. "She did? Huh, that's not unusual to hear but what happened?" "Silver basically just teleported a random dress and gave it to her as a gift. He also tried to convince me to get a gift for her too." Shadow explained in summary. Sonic was slightly bewildered about what he was hearing but it seemed like old news to him. "Eh, it's just how Silver is. He's an optimistic guy so you can maybe imagine how polite he is to Starlight." "Whatever, faker. You would react the same if you saw the sincerity Silver had for the gift." Shadow snarled at Sonic. "Woah, you need to chill out. You're just overreacting about this, Shadow. Besides, Silver's just a good person so you don't need to jump the guns about what he means by the gift idea he had." "Hmph, we'll just talk about this later with Silver. It's the best we can do. Farewell, blue hedgehog." Shadow then walked away from Sonic and left the room, ending the conversation there.
