You're a spy & must send a secret message. Turn inner wheel right or left to set your cipher code (outer wheel is plain text. Inner wheel is cipher text). Enter plain text you want to encode with cipher. Spy also uses this to decode enemy encryption.
You may also need to send your message via shoe-phone (provided) to headquarters. The concealed camera-binoculars (FBI,1960s) may also come in handy (public domain on Wikimedia). This project is simplified from my more complex decipher projects: Encrypt & Decrypt with "Caesar Shift" Decrypt Secret Message Communication technology requires sophisticated encryption. This Caesar encryption is a very, simple and famous example of encryption and decryption. Tried to keep code as simple as possible. Yet code isn't all that simple because there's the issue of coding back before A, and also handles non alphabetic text. This code here handles all that.
