As always, there are spoilers in this review. I suggest you watch the episode before reading this review. | | | | | V Yeah I know I'm late yadda yadda yadda, I'm just making this review now for a couple reasons. 1, I was banned when the episode released so I couldn't review it then. And 2, I want to do this now so for Reviewsday I can talk about the really underwhelming III finale. I know I haven't done an episode of Reviewsday since...October (yeesh) but it will still happen every so often. On that note, I should probably rewatch the episode so it is fresh in my mind. See you in a bit! (AFTER REWATCHING THE EPISODE) Wait WHAT? I went in expecting this to be mid, heck this review was originally "III 17 was really good...APRIL FOOLS!!!" but I guess I was just remembering it wrong? It is probably because the finale sucks, but hey i'll take my opportunity to review something good! Now, the challenge is probably the most creative one I have seen in the entirety of II. I loved the randomness and just general goofyness that was going on in the fake episodes. Not to mention the self awareness in the final "dart challenge" was really funny. One thing that was not funny was how unsubtle the messages are. Like, Silver may as well could have stared directly into the camera and say "You see kids, the moral of the story is to not use AI to make stuff". Oh well, that's just a nitpick. I would usually do the elimination segment next, but since II is structured to have that happen last I'll save that for later. Instead I'll talk about the characters! MePhone's very obvious story arc is simple, but works fine for this episode and does a good job setting it up for the finale. I sure do hope the finale actually uses this in a good way that really forced and unlikable! Uh, Walkie Talkie is uncharacteristically cheery here, which is bizzare. Uh..Cabby was okay, but didn't really serve any purpose to the episode. I liked the moment where she stood up the hosts, but everything else was just kind of okay. Silver was really funny, ESPECIALLY the shipping moment. I don't usually like ships, but this was just flat out hilarious. In order to really talk about Balloon and Nickel, I'll have to get to the elimination paragraph so... What? I mean, obviously it makes sense for Nickel to leave now but the actual reasoning for why he left was super dumb to me. If Balloon thinks that voting out Nickel will give him the best shot at winning, WHAT DO YOU MEAN? Voting out Silver would make much more sense because than it would be a 2v1 advantage. Hell, vote out Cabby because she is more popular with the eliminated contestants? Nickel is literally your worst bet Balloon I don't get it. But hey, at least the moment they shared before Nickel's elimination was sweet. Also also, does Balloon swear in this episode? I literally can't tell. The timestamp is 14:44 if you guys want to check it out, but I genuinely can't tell. So yeah this episode was pretty okay, 7/10.
