I'm posting this here because I just didn't want to post it on my main, idk why-- I've tried to stay out of this for as long as possible. But I think it's time I got involved. STOP. ATTACKING. JOE. Now, before you get angry and click off, there's no denying that he's done terrible things, and nothing excuses them or makes them okay. Yes, Joe's one of my favorite members of Tally Hall, but that doesn't mean I support what he's done. I'm not a Joe supporter. I can like his voice and the songs he writes without agreeing with his actions. I just wanted to get that out of the way. I've seen people in the Tally Hall / Miracle Musical fandom attacking Joe for doing what he's done. Yes, he's done awful things, but that doesn't make harassing him okay. Attacking him doesn't help him become a better person-- In fact, it only makes things worse. I think it should also be noted that Hawley is mentally ill. No, that doesn't excuse his actions, not at all, but it's still an important factor to take into account. I believe that it's possible for him to recover and become a better person, but I promise that continuing to bother him isn't going to make things any better. I've even seen someone threaten to d0xx him. THAT'S NOT OKAY! Being this terrible to people is never okay, no matter how terrible the person you're attacking is. Am I defending Joe Hawley's actions? No. What he did is by no means acceptable, but some people need to realize that people can change, and all this negativity isn't going to get you anywhere. And you know what? It's also possible that Joe will never change. But we don't know that for sure, and if he does have the potential to change, quashing it with attacks and negativity will only make things worse. Remember that Joe's a real person too. How would you feel if you did something bad but were trying to change and be better, and all everyone did was harass you about it? Wouldn't that be so upsetting and discouraging? I don't know about you, but I'd never wish that on another person. So please, just leave him alone. That's all. Thanks for reading.
