----------------------Chapter 7------------------------ >Shiningpaw silently crouched, her fur tingling with excitment. Today was her warrior assesment, and she could not. Mess. It. Up. >Shiningpaw finally got close enough to the rabbit she was trying to get. >The rabbit sniffed around. And that was the moment when Shiningpaw realized something. She was downwind! That was against everything she learned. >The rabbit finally smelled her and took off, but Shiningpaw wasn't giving up that easily! She wouldn't give up without a fight. Even if it was one with... chasing a rabbit. >Shiningpaw thought all that in less than a moment, then she was off. Her ears falttened against the wind, her claws gripping the grass below. She positioned her tail in a way that would make her go faster. >The rabbit swerved to the left. Shiningpaw's eyes locked on her target. Then when she was close enough, she jumped, her claws unsheathed. She jumped over the swift rabbit and quickly bit on the rabbit before the it had time to react. >Her mentor, Sunnylight, hopped out of the bushes. >"Amazing job Shiningpaw! That's your third, is it not?" Sunnylight said proudly. And with that voice, it was Shiningpaw's queue to smile. She had passed! >Later, Shiningpaw heard the call for a Clan meeting. >Shiningpaw smiled when she realized it was her ceremony. >Things had really changed since that day… when the sun just… was gone. That was a moon ago, when Shiningpaw was still training. >“Today I have something just brilliant to say. Three things, actually. First, we are going to have two new warriors!” Spiritstar called. >Cats cheered, for this was a good occasion. >“Second, I will be choosing a deputy,” Spiritstar called. “And, as some of you guys have been noticing, I have been talking with the medicine-cats. We have recently discovered I will be having kits!” > “So, apprentices first!” Spiritstar mewed. > “Fallenpaw, Shiningpaw,” Spiritstar said proudly. > “Shiningpaw, you first,” Spiritstar said with a smile on her face. > Shiningpaw came up to Spiritstar, her fur tingling with excitement. > “I, Spiritstar, call upon our warrior ancestors to look down on this apprentice. She has trained hard and i commend her to a warrior in her turn,” Spiritstar said, her eyes looking up at the stars. > “Shiningpaw, do you promise to uphold the warrior code even at the cost of your life?” Spiritstar asked. > Shiningpaw, who at this point was ecstatic, nodded. “I do,” She said happily. > “Then by the powers of StarClan, I name you Shininglight. StarClan honors your enthusiasm and dedication to our Clan,” Spiritstar said. > And then it was just their luck, the sun went out. Or darkened. Or whatever. Shiningpaw heard the Clan fall into chaos. She heard Spiritstar shouting over all the voices. “Silence!” Spiritstar yowled, making it quiet enough for the crickets to be heard, those of which were probably thinking it was night. ----------------------Chapter 7------------------------ > Fallenpaw sighed when the Clan went into chaos. What was so big about darkness? They have it all the time at night. > “Silence!” Spiritstar yowled, her voice slicing through the crisp, cool air. Everything went quiet. > “Everyone file into your dens, follow the senior Warrior’s voice. Seniors, I trust you know the camp by heart now,” Spiritstar said calmly. > “I’ll lead the kits and queens!” Curlfeather replied instantly. > “I’ll lead the warriors,” another said, their voice shaky with age and probably also fear. > “I got the apprentices,” one at the edge of camp said. > “Great. Then I’ll take care of the elders,” Spiritstar decided. > The cats slowly started to disperse out of the clearing. But the sun still wasn’t back, and Fallenpaw looked at the darkened sky, the stars were out due to the disappearing sun. > It almost convinced Fallenpaw it was night. The only problem was… where did the moon go? > There was an eerie light from the stars, almost haunting. > Fallenpaw shook it off. The stars were not normal. Usually they were gorgeous. > Fallenpaw followed the cat who was to lead the apprentices. > “All apprentices follow me!” The voice said. > Wait. It wasn’t a voice Fallenpaw recognized. It was very close to the camp entrance, if Fallenpaw could remember the camp. Fallenpaw shrugged it off. > Just then, a voice whispered to where Spiritstar was hissed,“Elders go to your den. You guys are smart enough.” > Fallenpaw, again, ignored this call. “Just follow the instructions Fallenpaw,” Fallenpaw mewed softly to himself. > He followed the voice, and the footsteps told Fallenpaw he was now next to the other apprentices. > “Come ‘ere,” the cat, a male, as Fallenpaw recognized, said. > Fallenpaw kept walking. Until he saw a faint glimpse of the cat. He saw a scar running across the eye. But this eye wasn’t like any battle-scarred cat in WishClan. He remembered that eye, from the gatherings every moon. And he remembered the scowl that cat gave everyone, even his own apprentice. (+)
(+) >It was Redclaw. The one who had left for WarClan. ———————— Next: None Previous: https://scratch.mit.edu/projects/985147131 First: https://scratch.mit.edu/projects/957316993 Hi guys! If you are confused why there are two chapters, read on! So I am going on Spring Break very soon, and I'm afraid I'm not going to be able to have time to make more chapters. I'll spend a bit of time on Scratch, replying to messages (and maybe even roleplaying a bit!). But I won't have any time for Scratch projects. I know there aren't many Sunless War fans right now, but hopefully it grows in popularity. Just letting you know, after I'm done with the Sunless War, I'm going to continue in the same world, just with my own cats. That way I can have more freedom. See if you can find the five Taylor Swift references I put in there!
