Finally got around to making the long overdue collection of references for (almost) every character in WL^^ I hadn’t made any beforehand to make sure I could memorize the designs, but I thought it’d be nice to finally tie down their proportions and things like that! I also ramble about each character below, if your interested in that sort of thing^^ * ************************************************************************ 0. The Color Pallete(s)! I always feel a bit embarrassed when people compliment it, as it was made less out of a stylistic choice and more so for convenience. ONION CLAN 1. Sunnypaw. I created her way back in 2021(as well as some other WL characters). She’s always been sort of happy go lucky, though it used to be a result of suppression rather than thoughtlessness. 2. Angstpaw. Looking back at artwork of him I’d made around his creation, I was surprised to find that his name’s stayed the same, although he didn’t have his trademark hair floof. He used to be Ceruleanstar’s son. 3. Jupiterpaw. Created him around late 2022, and he was supposed to be a side character, though as with a lot of characters in WL, he wormed his way into a more important spot. 4. Juniperpaw. She used to be called Gollypaw and would bounce around everywhere. She was also supposed to be Sunny’s older sibling figure rather than Jupiterpaw 5. Xenithclaw. I find my development of him as a character kind of funny, as he went from a normal proactive guy to a washed up middle aged divorced man. 6. Burrpelt. He’s just here to be a fluffy role model with limited vocabulary. 7. Venusdream. She’s Ceruleanstar’s daughter. I changed up her design since the her debut, the biggest change being that her eyebrow privileges are now revoked. 8. Stormpelt. She’d most likely be a more involved mother to Sunnypaw and the rest of her children if she weren’t ill. 9. Ceruleanstar. He never really knew what he was doing from his conception, but he used to be a lot more self aware and anxious about it. 10. Peppertongue. One of the few competent characters in the WL cast, and she’s aware of it. (Sunny’s father and brother’s aren’t included here because they don’t really do much or appear.) QUIRKCLAN (yes this is a reference to mha-) 11. Giantstar and Pettitestep. Just a tiny parasite woman and her seven foot husband. They must always be drawn together with Giantstar being on Pettitestep’s head or I will find you and explode you with my lazerbeam eyes. 12. Doctorpelt. We may all have our favorite characters, myself included, but he is objectively the best character, give me a counter argument:|| 13. Radarpaw. He was originally called Wafflepaw, and looked more like Burrpelt. He also used to be a background character, and was only intended to be a sort of vessel to experience the pilot (The Vision) LEMONCLAN 14. Buddy. A sad washed up guy like Xenith, the difference being that he had an existing (though not altogether decent) support system. Also he uh he’s not divorced- 15. Dogestar. She used to be a lot kinder upon conception. The most I’ll give away about how mean she’s become since then is that I giggle a little for every person who thinks chapter nineteen will be the worst of it:] LEAFCLAN 16. Chickadeepaw. I’m not completely satisfied with how her proportions came out, so I may not use this one as reference. And a fun fact, she’s the healer’s apprentice for Leafclan, hence her closer connection with her Starclan. 17. Lionstar. The best dad in WL(not that he’s got much competition) STARCLAN (the extra eyes in reference are meant to be what their eyes looked like before they died.) 18. Lunestar. Possibly my favorite Starclan cat just for her personality, she’ll be making her debut in chapter 24. 19. Herringfang. If you’ve been paying close attention, you’ll know she’s been mentioned once before in the comic. She’ll be making her debut in chapter 23. 20. Willowtears. She was initially intended to be the main villain before the reboot. I thought I’d also clarify that her eye markings aren’t connected to Chickadee’s, their similarities being oversights on my part. 21. Wisestar. You surprised to see a Starclan reference for him? 22. The Great One. My one regret with his design is that he has a lot of resemblance to Burrpelt.
