After a solid 10 minutes of awkward silence, Nova X spoke up. "Darling, you do know that Sundown Shadow had told you stories about me. You should've known from the start that all of them were true. Very dark but very true stories." Starlight still couldn't speak, her mouth closed tight due to how speechless she still was. She felt the need that she somehow had to help Nova X. She was her mother, she always needed to help her whenever she needed it. "M-Mother...why is your heart so...evil?" Starlight asked, finally gaining the ability to talk. Nova X shook her head, placing down her teacup onto the coffee table that was in between them. But before she spoke, Starlight noticed the odd color the tea had. It was a brown color, dark brown. It even bubbled a couple of times and she finally got a tiny wisp of the smell of the tea. Though, Starlight was abruptly stopped by Nova X as she was about to drink this mysterious tea. "Don't you drink that!" Nova X snapped, snatching the tea away from Starlight. Some of it spilled onto Nova X, burning her but she didn't even scream in pain at all. Silence again as she poured another cup of her strange tea. As Starlight looked at the paper that was taped onto the pourer, she noticed that it was labeled..."Methane Liquid". Nova X has been drinking poison this whole time! Starlight's eyes widen, realizing that her mother might be killed by it. However, Nova X noticed her worry and she smiled at her. "Darling, you may not have noticed this about me but I have the ability to withstand any poisonous liquid or gas. I can drink it and absolutely breathe it with no problem." And still, Starlight couldn't believe that this is all going on in front of her. Her mother is so powerful that she can restrain from dying of NATURAL POISON!? "Gosh, mother...you are so strong. No wonder why Sonic and his friends stood no chance..." Starlight responded, sounding so breathless. Nova X smiled and shrugged at her, being so calm. "I know, darling, I'm unlike anything Sonic has seen..." Starlight began to feel something change in her mother. Her eyes seem to be soft and genuine, as if she was starting to think of something a little bit. After a couple of minutes passed, Nova X seemed to look more sorrowful. She began to feel bad, a blood tear finally coming from her face. But, she didn't cry. Starlight then hugged Nova X, pouring some care onto her as she began to shed tears for her mother. After hours, nighttime fell. Starlight was alone in the gardens with Chancellor, having some comfort after what happened with her mother. "Starlight, you seriously need to focus on getting a break. You are placing a lot onto yourself with people's personal problems." Chancellor responded, having Starlight close to her and she was buried in his chest. She didn't say anything back to him in response. Chancellor then summoned Starlight's pet Chao, Moonie, to make her feel better. "Chao! Chao!" Moonie squeaked to Starlight. It grabbed her attention and she hugged Moonie. Starlight shed a happy smile, feeling so much comfort from her own pet. Chancellor then gave Starlight an affectionate kiss on her cheek, spreading more comfort to her. He was right, she did deserve a break from helping all of the main citizens with their deep, troublesome issues.
2 or 3 days for this chapter?! Dang, I guess I've been busy irl- ANYWAYS! This chapter is very emotional and dark so warning!!
