The KOS Kreznan is the premier Kievan long range ironclad vessel, using a combination of the old and reliable sails and masts, while also having new double expansion steam engines, evident by the two smoke stacks. This allows for greater range via greater efficiency and more engine power, while also allowing for a boost by the wind propelling the sails as well. The KOS Kreznan has a total of 30 breech loaded cannons, with fifteen of them on each side. These are specially designed, with a screw in and screw out breech hatch that can load in an artillery shell, comprised of an all metal casing that houses the gunpowder propellant for an explosive artillery shell, especially useful against the still popular wooden and sail ships that sail the seas. It utilizes a new pioneered form of armour plating on these vessels, the lamination method. A completely wooden hull is first built, then covered by multiple large thin strips and sheets of iron armour, reducing the cost greatly. There are also sheets of copper and other metallic armour added to below the water line in order to at least temporarily stop oxidization and rusting, as rust resistant paint did not exist yet.
