The Type 20 brings significant modernization into the older NSDF, allowing troops to add accessories such as grips, and optics, to name a few. Although, not all units are equipped with the Type 20 and are rather equipped with the older Type 89 rifle. The Type 24 update also brings new goggles and boots to the NSDF's personal soldier equipment. About 50% of Naidun's infantry boast Type 24 equipment, with more soldiers being equipped daily. A new squad automatic weapon program is planned, to replace the over 60-year-old Type 60 GPMG."
