2540 is on long term lease from LTEX. It's lease started in 2013 and expires in 2025. It was built as ATSF 1340 in 1964 and was rebuilt as a GP35u on that road. It ended up on the BNSF after 1996 and had the honor of being the first ex ATSF unit painted in the H1 scheme. It was purchased by LTEX in 2013 and was put on lease to the LBSR, which put a logo decal on the long hood. 2540 is mostly used for local duties and is often paired with a SD35-2R. Occasionally it is used by the SJVR under some weird business dealings.
