----------------------------Chapter 6-------------------------- > Spirit snuggled into Loop’s fur. Her parents had been talking about living with Twolegs. The weather had recently dropped down to freezing and prey was scarce. > Acorn, the youngest, begged Loop to let them find a warmer place. Echo, their father, agreed it was time to think about finding a new home. > “I’m sorry Spirit, but this is our family’s decision,” Loop said calmly, breaking Spirit’s thinking. > How could you just leave the wild for a trapped, Twoleg house!” Spirit argued, mad. > “Spirit, be reasonable. Our family is suffering from this life. It would be safer with infinite food and care,” Echo said. Since he was the smart one, Spirit hesitated for a second. > “B-but… I like living out here!” Spirit said, waving her tail at the frosted trees. > Loop sighed. “Life isn’t perfect darling. Things change. And part of life is to accept that change,” she said, her voice full of years of experience. > “Well… well, my life is way worse right now. If you were me you’d understand,” Spirit growled, frustrated. > “Come one Sp-” Loop was cut off by Spirit > “NO! I am not you! I’m me. Spirit. And right now, my heart is with the wild. So if you leave, that’s a goodbye. If you stay, we can continue to live as a happy family,” Spirit said. > “We are far from happy, Spirit. We’ll sleep here for the night, that’ll let you can decide. But please remember this: our family would crumble without you. Come with us,” Echo said. > “I’m already decided. I’m going to stay here. Whether you like it or not. With or without you,” Spirit said, turning her head away and running to their sleeping spot. > Cyclone, Spirit’s brother walked up to Spirit. “What happened to my little sister?” He said with amusement. > “Nothing. Goodbye Cyclone,” she grumbled. > Acorn walked up to Cyclone. “Can we play moss ball now? You promised you would play with me yesterday,” Acorn squeaked. > Cyclone gave an apologetic smile at Spirit, and headed out. > “Well. I guess this is it. Spirit, I just want you to know: in three moons from now meet me here. Right at this spot. If you changed your mind, or I changed it. Come here. Okay?” Loop said, her fur was a mess from the worrying and sadness. > Spirit nodded, her eyes not meeting Loop’s. Her eyes were watering. Acorn was sniffling, clearly regretting the suggestion to leave. Cyclone had his head down, not making eye contact with anyone. Ivy, Spirit’s littermate was crying, her closest friend and sister was leaving. > “Goodbye Spirit. I’ll miss you more than anyone here, that’s for sure,” Ivy said, trying to add some silliness to her voice, but it still stayed sad and confused. > “Goodbye my beautiful daughter,” Echo said. > “I hope you live out the rest of your life where ever your heart desires,” Loop said, sounding heartbroken. > “Me too. Spirit, I love you. And you must know that until your last days. Maybe we’ll meet again, maybe our kits will meet each other. I’ll miss you, I’ll think about you every single day. And I’ll still regret this decision, despite it’s key to our family’s survival,” Cyclone said. > “I-I’ll miss you lots Spirit,” Acorn said. > Loop sighed. “C’mon. Goodbye darling,” She said, her eyes finally tearing up. > Spirit’s new life suddenly flashed before her. A dark, handsome tom smiling as she played with kits that looked like her and the him. Spirit looking down at a large group of cats, announcing something inaudible. And then, finally, the last flash. Her and an older Acorn meeting each other at this spot, laughing and catching up. > Then the vision broke up. “I hope to see you again, all of you guys. Thank you for being… well, the best family ever,” Spirit whispered, on the verge of tears. > They all nodded their heads, agreeing they would stay a family, even after being worlds apart. Loop closed her eyes, turning away. > Spirit did the same, the tears spilling down. > Then a voice whispered in her ear,“Good job Spiritheart, you are ready for Clan life.” > Then a cat leaped out of the bushes, thin and scraggly, but determined and brave. “Who are you?” The cat asked. > “I’m Spirit,” Spirit said kindly, her voice cracking a bit. > “Well Spirit. I’m from WishClan. The name’s Leafystar,” The she-cat said. —————- If you guys want to see Spirit(star) more than just tell me! StarClan was watching over her. And her family, wherever they were. “Thank you StarClan,” she whispered up at the stars. And she swore, she heard the same voice say,“I’m proud Spiritheart.
