HEAPS OF SPOILERS AHEAD THIS IS JUST ME RANTING DONT READ IF YOU HAVENT READ IT (I mean you can but if you’re gonna read dark rise don’t read any of this I just needed to scream about this for a while) AAA GUYS,, OK, SOOOO,,,, LATEST HYPERFIXATION I AM ABSOLUTELY OBSESSED WITH DARK RISE. SEARCH IT UP. ITS JUST AAAARHJFHDJEIEJEJEJ Ok so basically it’s a fantasy series set in medieval England (1321 to be exact) There’s currently 2 books (a third is coming sometime I think) and I’ve just began the second one and oh my gosh it’s so good raaartehjdjeuejendjdjd At the start I didn’t really know if I’d like it but as the plot unfolds IT GETS SO SO GOOD AEEEEE IT LOOKS LIKE THE STERIOTYPICAL “LIGHT FIGHTS EVIL DARKNESS, LIGHT WINS, OK GREAT” BUT NOPE OH HOW FAR FROM THE TRUTH THAT IS ITS S SO GOOD If you like fantasy and gay then I REPEAT Spoilers ahead ehehehehejejejjejeje ITS GOT THE BEST PLOT TWISTS AND THE PLOT IN GENERAL IS JUSR PERFECTION AND ITS SO INTERESTING AND IN DEPTH AND THE CHARACTERS ARE AMAZING AND HALF OF THEM (way more then half but. We don’t talk about that) DIE BUT STILL 8TS SO GOOD AND MAKES ME SO INSANE OVER THIS BOOK LIKE CRYING MY EYES OUT ITS SO GOOD AAA And OMG like the whole time the main character and his friends (technically there’s like 7 main characters but we don’t talk about that OR MAYBE I WILL IDK HOW LONG THIS WILL BE) but throughout the whole first book (wELL most of it) Will and his friends are fighting this guy called Simon who wants to resurrect and bring back the dark king, by killing a blood line who are descendants of a woman called “the lady”. Back when the dark king was in power, he was like terrible and stuff all that classic villain stuff and the lady was his lover,,, but basically she killed him and stopped his reign,,, but before he died he ordered all of his generals to be killed as well so that when the time came THEY WOULD ALL BE RESURRECTED OKKK So then basically will and his friends are fighting Simon, trying to take him down before he releases the dark king again. Will believes he is the blood of the lady (one of her descendants) as the stewards (warriors of light living in big fancy secret castle) have told him. Because, of course, his mother was blood of the lady (atleast before she was killed by Simon cause Simon wanted to resurrect the dark king and in order to do that he must kill the bloodline of the lady) BUT THEN. Will finds out that /he/ isn’t actually his mother’s child. No, she adopted him. So this whole time he’s been trying to train to unlock the lady’s power within himself, but he was never blood of the lady. So who was? Who was keeping the dark king from rising now that his mother was dead? His mother had two children that will didn’t know about. And turns out one of them he’s in love with blah blah blah but don’t worry there is a gay slow burn romance situation between Will and James, (if you haven’t read it this is just me ranting about it so lol, read it before reading all this I should’ve said that earlier-) but turns out, Will IS THE RESSURECTION OF THE DARK KING. SO THIS WHOLE FORCE HES BEEN TRYING TO PREVENT FROM COMING BACK THIS WHOLE TIME, TURNS OUT THE DARK KING HAD BEEN RESURRECTED THE WHOLE TIME. IT WAS HIMMMMMMM. So now he’s grappling with known that he was a terrible person, and he thinks he still is, even if he can’t remember anything from his past life, he hasn’t told his friends, his past girlfriend lover is dead (BWHAHAHAHHAH MAKE WAY FOR THE GAYS /jjjjj) And now I’m excited to see the rest of the story unfold ! Im gonna BE SO SAD WHEN I FIF ISH THE SECOND BOOK I NEED THE THIRD ONE RIGHT NOW CRIES B7T I HAVE TO WAIT LIKE 2 YERAS HELP Oh yeah Simon is dead will killed him Will also killed undead soldier things and also a giant shadow king And also James his future lover is the resurrected general of the dark king and was controlled by the dark king so now there’s gonna be all this drama between them grappling with their shared pasts and trauma and BWHAHAHHSSHHHSAH IM SO EXCITED TO READ THE REST BUT ALSO NOOOO I HOPE IT LASTS FOREVER Will is best boi I’m SO SAD EMERY DIED EVEN THOUGH HE WAS LIKE THE MOST SIDE CHARACTER EVER WHYYYYYYY SOB I NEEDED THAT GAY LITTLE BEAN CHILD TO HAVE MORE PLOT ARMOUR ARRRR >:(((((( And don’t forget violet she’s so cool ajenjejsjjsjdudjdjd Ykr Katherine is pretty underrated too Welp bye Artz by me of Will ejejjejej And emery is literally my name like what why did he have to die h e l p Sob I wanted to have more scenes with emery in them but aparently not Curse you shadow monster kings :’ GRRR EMERY WHYYY
