This project was inspired by Toshio Iwai, an innovative artist and software designer from Japan. Clicking the green flag starts moving the blue line. Move the starfish and urchins to change the tune. (You can also use the ones at the bottom of the screen.) Place starfish higher and lower on the screen to play different notes. Move urchins higher and lower on the screen to get different drum sounds. Try changing the SPEED and INSTRUMENT sliders Pressing a green dot loads a song (there are songs already in the project) and pressing a red dot records what is on the screen. The Gray bar toggles the 'play through all instruments' mode. The yellow circles load and play the songs for position 1, 2, or 3.
This was one of the best example projects in the downloaded version of the Scratch 1.X software. Thank you mres for writing the original. Changes by Digimath: I updated the music blocks, added a save and restore function, and the yellow circles to load and play the save songs. Added the "walk through the instruments function".
