James Thomas, like many others, grew up in a small Midwestern town, just an hour’s drive outside of Indianapolis. Being a Hoosier, he has been a racing fan all his life. His dad is a mechanic, and opened his shop in the late 90s. This furthered James’s love for racing. He got in a little bit of trouble all throughout his teenage years, mostly car related. Until a risky car dealer saw young James steal one of his cars. An ordinary car dealer would simply report the young thief to the police and let that be that. But Don Raven was always a risk taker, and he saw James’s potential. Don saw he didn’t steal the most expensive car, but rather just some ordinary used Camaro. He tracked the young man down and gave him the ultimatum. Race for his new Modified team, pay him back for the car, and see what happens next, or go to jail. James’s choice was rather obvious. Live out his dream and not go to jail, with a cut in pay? That was more than worth it.
