[unnamed character] is a normal child who “runs away from home”, planning to return later. She gets lost. Liminal finds her, and not trusting the government (rightly so) he takes her in. He’s a grumpy old guy who isn’t fun to live with, and [unnamed character] incessantly bothers him. However they truly love each other (platonic obviously- not a ship pls don’t be weird).
