The North-Italian Civil War (1329-1419) was a huge power struggle between them, and the Guelph Confederacy won. The Guelphs also took interest in the Bucket cul- I mean, they were interested in the Bucket, so they renamed the confederacy to the Republic of the Oversimplified Bucket, up to this day, which is now 1432. (Unless @AOEplayer wants to set it to present day.)
