Qiren told himself, reaching for the book of maps on the shelf. "The Tundra biome IS a green biome, is it not?" He shut the book, sighing deeply. Blanei trudged over to Qiren and asked with worry, "You are studying again, are you?" Qiren chuckled but peered at Blanei's anxious face and went silent. Her gray-blue fur was slightly tangled but the top of her head was smooth and neat. She was definitely organized, but the last few weeks she had been trying to get Qiren in good shape for the summer exams. "You can't confuse yourself when studying." she had said before. Qiren tried to follow his guardian's words, but he didn't know how to "unconfuse" himself during his studies. "I can study on my own tonight," said Qiren. A small smile formed on the end of Blanei's mouth. "You sure?" she asked. "Of course, I should be the one doing everything on my own now anyways. I'm old enough." Qiren commented. It didn't take long for Blanei to reply. "Alright then. Goodnight, Qi." Blanei yawned with delight and headed off to her bedroom. ✦ The warm city lights glowed outside Qiren's window. He smelled the damp and clean powdery snow that covered the mountains below. After an hour of concentrated studying, Qiren was satisfied with his work and settled down onto his cotton bed. The midnight stars scattered the sky, and the wet clouds covered them. The mountain ranges seemed to roll on forever, though in the Alpine biome, that was completely normal. A shooting star blasted through the skies and Qiren quickly closed his eyes, pushing through his curtains. "I wish..." he stopped. The clouds moved beyond the pearly moon. He open his eyes again and paused. "I wish.. I wish that Blanei can have a better life, without me. She never needed me, I needed her. I still do, but she doesn't. I - I need her to leave me.
