(Click flag x2) I got into this song just a few days ago. This is a project of me singing Morningtown Ride, a train song which is also a lullaby. When I recorded my voice, the audio was pretty loud, so I turned it down, so that I don't accidentally kill your ears. You're welcome. If you don't know this song, here's an explanation and meaning to it. The song was written in 1957 by a woman named Malvina Reynolds (1900–1978) as a lullaby. The song was even more famous when an Australian band named "The Seekers" covered it in 1966. Their recording reached No. 2 on the UK Singles Chart. The song tells the comforting story of the journey through nighttime made by all the "little travellers" (children), on board a train, with the Sandman as guard. The song was covered by many other artists in the following years. The Seekers' lead singer, Judith Durham had died in 2022, and Morningtown Ride, and the other Seekers' songs, were performed by notable Australian artists at her state funeral. The song itself is also a journey that reconnects us with our inner child, reminding us of the beauty and simplicity that can be found in life’s smallest moments. Its timeless lyrics and exquisite production continue to resonate with listeners, capturing the hearts of generations. So, the next time you feel the need for a little escape, let “Morningtown Ride” take you on a magical journey, to a place where dreams come alive and hope is rekindled. (Bet you never thought I can sing that well, huh?)
Instrumental/Karaoke music by Zoom Karaoke Lyrics: Train whistle blowing makes a sleepy noise Underneath their blankets go all the girls and boys Rocking rolling riding out along the bay All bound for Morningtown many miles away Driver at the engine fireman rings the bell Sandman swings the lantern to show that all is well Rocking rolling riding out along the bay All bound for Morningtown many miles away Maybe it is raining where our train will ride; All the little travellers are warm and snug inside Rocking rolling riding out along the bay All bound for Morningtown many miles away Somewhere there is sunshine somewhere there is day Somewhere there is Morningtown many miles away Rocking rolling riding out along the bay All bound for Morningtown many miles away Rocking rolling riding out along the bay All bound for Morningtown many miles away.
