Easy To Hate Three As he writes back I seem nervous as to what he will reply with. He then quickly passes it back. I pick it up and start reading. “Would you be mad if I wasn’t asking you out? Would you really go or ditch me?” Oh my gosh… I start writing back with a smile on my face. “Yes…I would be mad, and…I would really go. I’m not the type to ditch. You should know that…Ari.” I drop it then slide it back to him, smirking. He sees me and smiles back then hides his face. He picks it up and smiles bigger while reading it. Did I just pull someone by reversing the ask-out…? I’m so smooth. Tori could never~ He passes it back while staring me down. I picked it up. “Then it’s a date. I’ll be at your house fifteen minutes before the party starts. We can walk, we’re within distance.” We look back at each other. I nod to him. “Oh wow. ‘I said I don’t even fancy anyone. What's with the fuss?’ Remember that, Olive? Like I said…dress cute!” Tori blabbers. My face goes red, “Sh-shut up, Victoria…” The bell rings for the next period. We only have two more left. The last two fly by pretty quickly. I’m packing up to go home while Tori continues to nag at me about Ari and the party. We walk out of the school as we end up bumping into Ari. “I’ll leave you two be. Don’t get lost!~” Tori skips away in her annoyingly ecstatic tone. Ari and I look at each other. “So…not, um…taking the bus this evening..?” He asks shyly. “No…I don’t like the bus. It’s much too noisy for my liking.” I murmur with a blank expression. “Oh. How come I see you ride it so much?” “My brother makes me. I don’t mind if it’s for him though.” He looks at me as I watch the bus drive away. I look up at him. “What?” “What..?” “You’re staring.” “So..~” “Don’t test me, Laurent.” “Why so gutted? No need when I’m right here.” I roll my eyes as he laughs at god knows what. I can’t see how he can find so much joy in this world. “I’ll walk you home.” He suddenly grabs my arm to pull me along, knowing I wouldn’t follow willingly. We walk in silence as I let the cold, melancholy air blow in my face and drift through my hair. We arrived at my boring..old..house. “Well…we’re here.” I look up at him, with a neutral expression. “Well, see ya at school tomorrow!” He smiles and winks as he starts running back the way we came. I watch him as his figure slowly gets smaller as he disappears over the hill.
Four I sigh as I open my door and see my brother on the couch watching T.V. I can’t see what he’s watching, but I don’t really care and I walk upstairs to my room. I open my laptop and start scrolling through Ari’s blog. He had a busy christmas..huh? I continue scrolling out of boredom and find nothing of interest. I shut my laptop and turn on my T.V. I looked for about twenty or so minutes before deciding to watch “The Walking Dead.” While I lie on my bed, I start to doze off and before I know it I wake up to my parents yelling for dinner. “I’m not hungry!” I shout, hoping they hear me so I don’t have to walk downstairs and interact with them. I end up falling asleep again. My brother, Casey, knocks on my door and walks in. I had woken up by then but I pretend I am asleep so I don’t have to talk. He sees me and realises I am probably sleeping so he closes my door and leaves me alone. I respect this and thank him silently. I turn around and look at my clock. 10:45 pm…It’s bloody late. I couldn’t fall back asleep so I opened my laptop and looked through my socials. No one has an interesting blog. I continue to scroll but nothing catches my eye. I, once again, shut my laptop. I stare up at my ceiling and contemplate what I will do tomorrow. I sit for about fifteen minutes before looking back at the clock. 11:08 pm. Maybe I can at least try to get a kip in. I lie on my side and turn on some music to try to fall asleep. I eventually did but it took what felt like an hour. I wake up to my alarm. It’s 5:00. I decided to take a shower to wake myself up. I was there for about twenty or so minutes. When I got out, I put on my school uniform and went back into my room. My curly hair doesn’t seem to straighten so I just style it somehow. I look at the time once again, it’s now 6:20. I hear my brother getting ready in his bedroom. I look at my phone to see a missed call. Tori. Why is she calling me so early? I rang her back. “Tori?” “Oh, look who finally woke up!” “It was 5:00 am, Tori.” “...” “What did you want?” “Would you like to walk to school with Imogen, Kailee, Ari, and I?” “...Why is the whole school there?” “Stop being such an introvert and get out here.” “What do you mean? No way you’re already here.” “We’ve been here for a while, Ollie. Come on!” I hang up the phone and run downstairs while putting on my jacket. I open the door. “Oh…” I walk over to them and say hi and chat while we walk to school.
