It's been nearly a year since the last chapter. Wild to think it's been that long. This whole comic has been a big part of my life, but nowadays, there's some issues and problems. For one thing, most of the story was written in 2021. It was a messy jumble of a plotline I created with little expertise or experience. It was honestly created on pure impulse, with most of the pre-production being spent on making characters rather than focusing on building the story. Now that's not to say I didn't like it. It was comedic, had charming characters that I enjoyed writing, had an interesting premise, and had the potential to go somewhere. And it did go somewhere. Most of my Scratch fanbase is built off this silly cat comic. However, I do not think I can continue it as it is. I will get into that. I do not want to keep you reading my little message too long, so I will be answering any questions I can think of, or if you have a question, lemme know. :)
Q: Is TAD cancelled? A: That is still being decided. I do not wish to drop it, but I need to be able to put the majority of my focus on my original stories. Q: Why are chapters taking so long? A: Multiple factors. In 2021, I made around the first 9-10 chapters in just a few months. Which probably led to major burnout in 2022. Though at the time, I was not familar with burnout. I kept overworking myself. Thus, I put the comic on hiatus for a year later into 2022. I wanted to create 10 chapters, I made 3. By the time the hiatus ended in 2023, I had started an original story offsite on an actual webcomic. I had a new passion project, Lurking Secrets of Paradise. Q: Why do you not think you can continue it as is? A: The plot reeks of unoriginal concepts. Which is fine, it's a fanfic. However, it comes down to personal preference, and I prefer to write stories that are as original as possible. If I were to continue it from the current 16 chapters, I would have to make some summary projects, as some people have had a hard time understanding chapters. Which I totally get. I do not see comments like these as insults to my writing. I see them as a signifier that I should look for flaws. Q: Will there still be redraws/rewrites of the chapters? A: Maybe maybe not Q: Will Rail or WildHail be canon? A: Well wouldn't you like to know Q: Will WildHail or Wildberry be canon? A: Well wouldn't you also like to know Q: Who's the firefly? A: buddy pal friend chum I ain't telling you nothin' Q: wait shut up about TAD what's happening with Experiment Escape A: Being pushed back for a few years to grow my skills Q: If TAD gets cancelled in the end, will the plot be revealed? A: That is a bridge I will cross when it comes to that. I do not want to cancel it, reveal the plot, and then decide I wanna bring it back.
