In the roleplay 'Alternate Scar' there are several roles that your character can become as they age. Some of these roles are different or entirely new to Warrior Cats, so it is greatly recommended that you read this through. [MAIN ROLES]: Leader - The one in charge of the clan, they have the power to appoint deputies, hold clan meetings, and other things, but VocanoClan does not give their leader the ability to appoint apprentices, unlike other clans. If the leader dies, the role is passed onto an heir, if not, then the deputy, unless there are specific instructions not to. Deputy - The deputy is the second in charge, and often accompanies the leader. They sleep in the same den as the leader, on a separate nest, nearby for protection of the leader. If the leader dies, the deputy is named leader unless there are specific instructions not to. Warrior - Warriors are the protecters of the clan, being the most numerous role in the clan. Most cats grow to be warriors, and the warriors of VolcanoClan are particularly strong. If a warrior has a litter, they tend to be exempt from duties until the kits are apprentices, as they need to take care of the kits. Warriors live in the warrior's den. Warrior apprentices - Warrior apprentices are trained by warriors to be, well, a warrior. They practice fighting, intimidation, and sometimes a bit of hunting, just in case. The warrior apprentices sleep on a ring overhang in the warrior's den. Hunters - Hunters are similar to warriors. in that they are trained in combat, but hunters are also trained more in hunting. Their role is to find food for the clan by hunting (of course) for things like rabbits and birds, and some also catch fish. Hunter apprentices - Hunter apprentices are hunters-in-training that actually hunt with the main group. They are tasked with finding good places to hunt, and they also tend to take on smaller prey. Hunter apprentices sleep in the hunter's den with the full hunters. Medicine cats - Medicine cats are tasked with keeping the clan heathy, by curing sicknesses, treating wounds, and several other things. They are the least common main role in the clan, and to become one takes moons of learning, testing, and treatment, as it is a very important and hard role. The full medicine cats are usually the ones who take on the more serious injuries, and they sleep in the medicine cat den, which is also where patients are treated. Medicine cat apprentice - The apprentices of the medicine cat are trained every day to handle anything from a small cut to a severed limb, but they are usually the ones who deal with the less severe injuries and illnesses, and are also the ones sent to gather herbs and other items. They sleep near the medicine cat in the medicine cat den. Nursery attendant - The nursery attendant works to take care of the kits when the parents can't. They do everything in their power to help the kits be healthy, strong, and they also have fun with them! Kit - Kits are born from litters, and tend to have a few brothers and sisters. They do not become an apprentice until they are about 8-12 moons old, and they are taken care of by either their parents or the nursery attendant. [SIDE ROLES]: Leader's mate - The leader's mate's name explains itself. they are the mate of the leader, and they sleep in the leader's den, with the leader. They can still have another role, but most of the time they are a nursery attendant or a warrior. When the leader has a mate, the deputy sleeps in either the warrior's den or a spare den, but their role to protect the leader is the same. Heirs - When the leader has a litter, the kits are known as 'heirs' and they are taught how to lead by either the leader, the leader's mate, or the deputy. When the leader d!es, the role of leader is normally passed onto the eldest heir, and if there are no heirs that want to be leader, the deputy becomes leader. When an heir's time to be leader has come, they can choose not to become leader, and instead pass it to the next in line, and this decision cannot be reversed unless the new leader d!es, then they are first in line again. Elders - When a cat gets old enough, (About 60 moons old,) the gain the option to retire and become an elder. Elders are exempt from work, and can spend the day talking, interacting with the kits, telling stories, giving tips, ect. Elders are put in charge of training whenever there are too many apprentices for the normal mentors to handle, and they tend to be more strict. Elders can have kits, but the moment that they reach about age 80, they can't anymore. If a cat reaches age 80, they are forced to retire and become an elder. The elders also get a den for only elders, so that way they can have some peace and quite at night.
Warrior cats. The main roles are needed roles that have big impact, while side roles are not needed, but can be important. THIS IS OPEN TO CHANGE! If any new roles are added or any roles change, this will change too!
