Hundreds of years ago, this king believed that married men made weak soldiers; he literally banned marriage. Many couples went to this priest named Saint Valentine to be married in secret. Valentine was eventually caught, and was executed on February 14th. We now celebrate Valentine's Day on that day in his honor.
