Hello, this is a written horror story! This is my first draft and I'm hoping to publish this some day! Here is Ch 1! ~Welcome Home~ I stared at my new house. It was a pale blue. The structure looked like it would fall apart any second. The roof had tiles falling off of it. The front door looked welcoming. It was a dark brown. Stained glass was at the top of it, a light blue. The pattern of the glass looked like a spider web. I could hear from the car, my mom and dad unloading our belongings. Turning around to it, I saw my little sister Aurora, standing there watching them. Hugging her stuffed dog tight with a nervous look on her face. I knew that she had second thoughts about moving. Mom had reassured her that everything was going to be alright. We were moving into our Aunt’s house. “Wanna come and pick our rooms?” I asked softly to Aurora. She nodded and took my hand. Entering the house. We were meet with a living room. A dusty velvet couch stood in front of an old fireplace. Burnt wood was still there behind its copper door. A rug was spread across the rough carpet. Walking down the hallway we passed the kitchen, a bathroom, the dining room, a small unused space and a guest bedroom before we reached the stairs. The stairs had nails sticking out of it. Loose floorboards stuck up making it hard to walk up. Dad did say it was going to need a bit of fixing up, the place. Upstairs there were five bedrooms, three bathrooms, an old laundry room and a small stairway to the attic. I walked into the first bedroom I saw. Inside of it was a creaky bed, a dresser, an old cracked mirror, and a small couch. Looking around the room, something on the dresser caught my eye. It was an old music box sitting on the dresser along with a melted wax candle. From under the bed something caught my eye. An old burnt wooden box was slid underneath it. Pulling it out, I opened it. Out came a faded gold locket. Clicking it open, a black and white picture of a little girl was inside. She had a big smile on her face, long wavy hair dropped down onto her shoulders. Above the girl, someone had written in cursive Bella. I wonder who Bella is? I thought while absent mindfully while placing the locket around my neck. Walking out of the room, and into the next I found Aurora looking around a smaller room then the one before. In the room there was a smaller bed, with faded pink sheets, a dusty pillow and her stuffed dog. A dresser and an armchair. Aurora let out a scream. Intimately I rushed over to her “What’s wrong?” I asked “T-that” She mumbled, pointing to the dresser. On the dresser there was an old porcelain doll that I hadn’t noticed before. Its skin was a pale white, it had an unsettling smile on its face. It wore a stained white bonnet, a puffy faded pink dress and sturdy lace-up tops. Looking at it sent shivers down my spine. I hugged Aurora and whispered into her ear “Hey, I know it’s creepy but we can move it.” Nodding Aurora stumbled out of the room. With one last look at the doll, I followed her. Walking down the hallway, I peeked into the other rooms. The master one was all decked out with modern furniture. The one next to it too. Hanging in between the two rooms was a huge black and white portrait. A tall man is standing above a velvet couch that I saw in the living room. His hands tucked behind him. His hair slicked back and his face flat. A woman and two girls that look around ten, were sitting on the couch. The woman had a bright smile on her face, her long hair sat on her shoulders. Her dress dropped over her legs. One of the girls had a blindfold over her eyes, her smile was flat and her silky hair straight. Her dress was like the women. The last girl was sitting next to the blindfolded girl. She had a big bright smile, long wavy hair dropped down onto her shoulders, a gold locket hung from her neck. She looked like the Bella from the locket. Even the locket she wore looked the same. Underneath the portrait, said The Gardener Family, Bella, Elizabeth, Ruth and Alec Staring at the portrait, I wondered what Bella meant to the house’s past. ~End~
