As a beginning note...: Double or triple click the green flag! :) Also, go into fullscreen- after you read ALL OF THIS!!! Disclaimer (PLEASE READ! tis important haha): We know that GMOs have their bad things too, but this was a school project and we were given a prompt to focus on the GOOD things. We are aware that GMOs have their cons as well and while they can be good and do have their benefits as listed in the game, they do also have their cons and can affect the environment negatively (for example, farmer's can be affected negatively and have suffered due to the pollen spreading from neighboring GMOs, and studies show that GMO crops can negatively affect the caterpillars of monarch butterflies, but again we decided to focus on the pros as that was our assignment. Please do research if you'd like more on this topic! Here a few starting points if you are interested! GMOs can be an incredibly controversial topic but it's really really interesting to research about!: https://www.nongmoproject.org/gmo-facts/ http://responsibletechnology.org/gmo-education/ https://gmo.geneticliteracyproject.org/FAQ/what-are-gmos/ https://gmo.geneticliteracyproject.org/FAQ/are-gmos-safe/ https://vittana.org/13-vital-pros-and-cons-of-gmos https://classes.soe.ucsc.edu/cmpe080e/Spring05/projects/gmo/benefits.htm https://classes.soe.ucsc.edu/cmpe080e/Spring05/projects/gmo/negative.htm https://healthresearchfunding.org/pros-cons-genetically-modified-foods/ https://www.forbes.com/sites/gmoanswers/2016/05/20/gmos-are-safe/#6678b8b1223d I, myself, am neutral on the subject of GMOs. It doesn't matter to me, really, and the purpose of this project is not to give you an opinion on GMOs but rather to share facts with you on the subject and to show you that they are not entirely terrible as some may believe. But I just wanted to put that out there. This was reshared for school. Also, all comments are being deleted, not because I don't respect your opinion or view on GMOs, but because I don't want any comments on the game, just to keep it clean. :) Please, enjoy the game! (end disclaimer LOL) Instructions: Use the arrow keys to move the player around. the up arrow is to jump, and the down arrow does the best job- nothing. XD When you get to the boss, you have to walk towards the boss, then walk away from the boss, and the battle will start! If you need to restart a level, then press R and you will be magically teleported to the beginning of a level! XD Some things to say: There are a few glitches, I know, but some of them I kept because they were kind of funny. XD Do us a favor and suggest this?: It would be really nice if this got featured... We both worked really hard on this project and it would be very appreciated if you suggested it! :) Thanks! Even if you don't want to, maybe just love or favorite if you enjoyed it? You totally don't have to, but it would be much appreciated! ^^ More info + all the effort we put into + time spent XD: This is our final Design Thinking project! I made it with Marry and we both worked SUPER DUPER HARD on it for 6? 4-5?... anyway, we worked on this project for 4-6 weeks, so I really, really hope you enjoy it! We put a lot of hours into creating this, and this was featured at our Open House! Some more things to mention: I'm actually really proud of this. So I hope you enjoy this as much as we did making it! :) I do realize that some of the art may not look as detailed as my other art that I have shared on here, please try and understand that we were on a time crunch. :) Same goes for glitches... Some interesting facts: 'Strawbarry' is pronounced with the 'barry' part like 'Marry.' XD The lava actually reminds me of strawberry milk! It fits with the Strawberry theme! I nicknamed one of the glitches 'The Elevator Glitch! The glitch was helpful in creating our game, actually.

Description

The two people who made this project: -Me for... all of the art except for the crops at the end of the level and all of the animating, some of the coding/ most of the coding (everything except for the movement of the player I guess? lol), some of the answers for the quiz questions, typing in all the answers, and yeah... that's it! Oh, and some research! Oh... and the concept ^^ -@TomatoandPasta for... the art for the level ending crops, typing in all the information, and coming up with the quiz questions and most of the answers! She also did research and helped with the idea and concept! Music: -The music in this project is by various artists, such as: ~daniwellP for Nekomimi Switch, the music box arrange by... unknown? ~This for the battle music- https://youtu.be/vj8fDOHAEZU ~This for the beginning music-https://youtu.be/3SvAQfWcbQw Other scripts: -Also, because we weren't able to come up with our own platformer script, we had to use the one from this project: (https://scratch.mit.edu/projects/25387054), so thanks to them! :) A note: -Any characters that have resemblance to characters in real life is completely unintentional XD Because some people do have pink hair, and who knows if someone is named Mrs. StrawStraw... Special thanks to...: -Our fabulous design thinking teacher for assigning us this assignment :) Uh... please give us a good grade! XD -Our design thinking class for being super supportive! ^^ And... you! Because you looked at this project and played it! Thanks for playing! :) Ok, we understand that GMOs have their bad sides too. We know that and are aware. But GMOs aren't entirely bad either- they have good things about them, too. We made this game to emphasize the GOOD things about GMOs, because some people may view them as entirely bad, which technically isn't true because they have their good things, of course. I, personally, am on middle ground. I'm not completely against GMOs but I'm not all for GMOs either. I'm just saying. It's not that I don't agree that GMOs have their cons, because thats not true. We just wanted to focus on the good things.
