Instructions

I wrote this instead of doing homework, so enjoy lol All characters belong to Disney, except for Anna. :) (TW: f!ighting) Anna skipped down the street, her newspaper bag bumping against her hip, the coins inside jingling. It had been a successful day of selling papes, and now Anna was going to see if anyone else had sold all of theirs so they could hang out. Normally she would meet up with Finch or Albert, but today she ran into Race first. He was hawkin’ his headline but no one seemed to being paying him any attention. “C’mon! She called to him. “That’s the best ya could come up with?” He turned to her. “Ya think youse could do better?” He walked over to her and handed her the pape. Anna looked at the headline. Trolley strike in its second week. What a snoozer! Anna lifted the pape over her head and called, “Train wreck outside the city, you heard it here!” Almost ten seconds passed before an old man came and took the paper in exchange for a nickel. “Thanks, Mista.” Anna waved it in front of Races face. “Now that is how you do it.” He rolled his eyes. “Okay, okay, youse made ya point. Now give me ma nickel.” “Your nickel?” Anna laughed. “It’s mine, I sold the pape!” “Well it was ma pape!” He argued. Anna just laughed. Race reached over and pulled her cap off her head. “Hey!” She reached up to grab it back, but Race was taller than her so she couldn’t reach it as he held it above his head. “Give it back!” “Give me ma nickel first,” he countered, “then youse can get ya cap back.” He took her cap and placed it on top of his own. “So ya gonna wear two caps then?” “Until I get ma nickel.” Anna was about to speak when she was interrupted by Albert and Finch walking over. “Ey, Race,” Albert called. “Why ya wearin’ two caps?” “It’s a long story,” Anna said. “Anna won’t give my Nickel,” Race added. “So, not that long then?” Finch smirked. Anna rolled her eyes. "Fine," she sighed, "you can have ya nickel." Race took the coin from her. "Thanks Anna." "Ma cap." She said, her hand outstretched. Race reached up to it, "Y'know, I like this hat, I don't think I wants to give it back yet." "What?" Anna jumped up to knock it off his head, but Race dodged her hand and started running down the street. "Ya can have it if ya catch me!" He called back. Anna looked to Albert and Finch for help, but they were both failing to hide their laughter. She sighed and started chasing after Race. He was fast, but she was able to catch up. "Race!" She yelled, but he just turned his head and stuck his tongue out at her. When he turned back around, he ran right into two cleanly dressed boys. The Delancey Brothers... Race fell onto the ground and both caps fell off his head. Anna froze and tucked herself int the shadows, to avoid being seen. Morris hauled Race to his feet. "What do we have here?" He asked as Oscar crossed his arms. Race dusted himself off. "Uh, hey fella's." As Anna watched the scene unfold she heard footsteps behind her. Albert and Finch were walking around the corner, talking loudly. “Quiet down will ya?” Anna hissed. “It’s the Delancey’s, and they got Race!” “I ain’t afraid of no Delancey,” Finch argued, but he gripped his slingshot tighter. “C’mon.” Albert said, pulling Finch along with him. "Let's soak 'em." "What?" Anna whisper-hissed. "Youse don't have a chance, you'll get soaked!" ”Doesn’t matter, they got Race.” “But-” “Stay here!” He said firmly. “I don’t want ya to get hurt.” Then he walked towards the brothers, Finch following. Anna watched with wide eyes as Albert and Finch got closer. She couldn’t hear the what they were saying to each other, but they must have been arguing, because Finch had his slingshot out and Albert was reaching for Race. She heard shouts and looked away. The sound of a punch rang in her ears, and when she looked back, Finch was on the ground, holding his arm, his slingshot on the ground. “Now it’s a fair f!ight,” she heard Oscar say. Morris grabbed Albert and threw him to the ground. Race looked around, a little worried. Albert had sat up, but neither Delancey paid any attention to him. Albert and Anna locked eyes and he shook his head, mouthing no. Anna glanced between him and Race who was now cornered. Anna stepped out of the shadows, but no one noticed. She started getting closer, but stopped when she realized she had no clue what she was doing. Unfortunately, her pause was noticed by Oscar who turned towards her. He was about to say something, but Anna never found out what it was because Race whacked him in the back of the head with his fist causing him to stumble forward. Albert and Finch both got up, Finch grabbing the caps from the ground, and Albert running towards Anna. Race slipped out of Morris’ grip and took off running with Finch towards Anna and Albert. ...

Description

... “Lets go!” Called Race as he ran past them. Anna glanced back and saw that the brothers were starting to follow them. Anna took off running after the newsies. They ran for a while, turning down random streets every so often, until they finally lost the Delancey’s. They all stood for a moment, catching their breath, before Finch handed Anna and Race their caps. They took the caps and placed them in their heads. They looked around at each other before they started laughing. They began joking around and making fun of the Delanceys, the encounter slowly being erased from their memories. -The end- Sorrry the ending is so bad, i couldn’t figure out how to end it well, so that’s that. Lmk what you think! Also, see how many newsie references you can count ;)
