In the midst of the desolate, ashen wastes of a land no wise man would dare traverse, sat a lone man at the edge of a crackling campfire- the light of which conjuring crooked shadows across the rocks surrounding him. He was on edge, keeping half an eye on his surroundings as he tended to eggs he’d placed in the fire to cook- despite the unbroken silence of that night… He knew that didn’t mean he was alone. After all, it was a night very much like this one, where he’d lost everything- everyone… But it’d do no good to think about that now- he had to focus on his own survival, not on things he could no longer change… However, it was hard to simply forget… The average man may be able to erase such things with a bottle of liquor, but even if he wished for that- where would one get such a thing this far from… Everything? He shook his head, getting to his feet slowly- trying to ignore the exhaustion weighing on his mind- grabbing his spear as he wandered slowly over to where he Guar was resting, gently patting its side “I’m proud of you sera, these last couple of months have been difficult on you- n’chow, it’s been difficult for the both of us- just… Maybe I should risk…- Oh why do I bother, you probably can’t understand a word I’m saying…” He sighed softly, turning back to his campfire- but froze, shock spreading across his previously neutral face as he tried to process what was happening. “Oh er, I hope you don’t mind-” The stranger now sitting in his camp chuckled, as he took a bite out of one of his eggs- scowling at the taste “I’m a tad bit lost you see-“
