ALRIGHT GUYS TIME TO GET THE BIG STUFF OUT ! ! ! WE GONNA DO THIS REAL NICE AND CLEAN RAHHHHHHH ✨✨ (READ FULL DESCRIPTION if possible!) ----- okay so before we begin, i'de like to make a disclaimer that this is not a hate-spreading project. that being said... HERE'S WHAT WE'RE GONNA DO TODAY. There's too much games on the #art section, so I want us silly artists to unite to do this simple thing! Copy paste this sentence: Hi, us artists would appreciate it you wouldn't post any more games or non-art related projects in the future with the #art tag, as it pushes away opportunities for actual artists to get a spot on the #art tag! (feel free to add whatever you wanna add on unless it's toxic) AFTER COPYING THE TEXT, feel free to paste the text and comment it on games you see on the #art tag. We need more scratchers to know that us artists simply want to exist on the #art tag without having to compete with games that aren't related to actual art. One may argue that "games technically have art with their sprites and drawings" but that is a whole different kind of art from the kind of art US ARTISTS MAKE. 90 percent of games on Scratch are generic platformers without any artistic, creative, original outputs. Art is defined by creativity, artistry, and originality, so games are way different from art. Another argument one would make is that "Scratch was made for games and not art", well, if you look at the Scratch Wiki, you'll see that there's a whole section dedicated to art and encouraging art! it says in the wiki that the art doesn't even have to be interactable/coded. THE SCRATCH TEAM THEMSELVES made two different tags, #games and #art so that we could separate games from art! Another clarification though, if your game was truly artistic and beautiful with lovely, creative, and original sprite artwork, then THAT deserves #art. generic games just don't belong in #art us artists have a right to have our say on OUR tag. REMINDER THAT THIS IS ONCE AGAIN NOT A HATE PROJECT !! LET'S DO THIS PEACEFULLY, GUYS, and hopefully this simple silly thing I wanted to do can somewhat make a change in our little #art tag. :>
