Not always emotionally or mentally.) - can sense affection --- Lifestyle: Valentino/Calliope shifts between their deity and mortal forms, spending some of their time delivering love letters, confessions, notes, or anything of that like as a deity, and spending the rest of their time with their friend and significant other, Summer, as a mortal. --- Backstory: Long ago, the deities of love and messages believed that confessions of love needed their own, special messenger. One who valued love above all else, and truly believed that love was a special, precious thing. The messenger had to understand love, and to do that, they had to experience it, so the beings of the heavens put the messenger of love's soul into a mortal body, for it to be born as Calliope. The creatures of the heavens didn't know what would happen once Calliope was born, but hoped that they would experience love. In the mortal world, Calliope had a life, and was just a normal person with no idea that she was a deity. As a kit, she made her first and only friend, Summer(they/them). Summer had seemed a bit cold and standoffish at first, but the pair slowly grew closer, and Summer seemed to genuinely care for and love Callie. Summer always stood up for Calliope when the other kids bullied or made fun of her for being "odd" and "weird" because she had a tendency to zone out, and could sense people's affection. They listened to Callie when she talked as if she was the only and most important person in the world, even when Callie sometimes zoned out when Summer talked, and Summer always brushed it off in a joking manner. Calliope felt as if she could trust Summer with anything. They grew up together, and when they were old enough, they had their first crushes. Callie had her first crush on a tom named Apex, but he wasn't interested in her, and was going to move away soon anyways, so Calliope gave up on that and decided to help Summer instead, since Summer always helped her. Now it was Callie's turn to help. Summer's crush was a beautiful she-cat named Tora(means tiger). Tora had blazing orange fur, jet black stripes, and brilliant white markings on her face. Calliope could feel that Tora felt affection back towards Summer, so she encouraged Summer to confess to Tora, but Summer was too nervous and had too much self-doubt. So Calliope, the deity messenger of love, took matters into her own hands. Or paws. She told Tora that Summer felt the same way to Tora as she did Summer, and suggested that Tora should ask Summer out, so eventually, Tora did. The entire time she was doing this, Calliope had felt like she was in her natural element, that she was made to do this. And Callie loved it. Soon, she started passing people's love confessions to each other around, and brought together many harmonious couples, earning her the nickname "Messenger of Love" around her town. How ironic, seeing as she IS the deity messenger of love, but doesn't know that yet. She gained a bit more popularity, and Tora started hanging out with them more. Callie often felt like she was third-wheeling, but she didn't mind. As long as Summer was happy, it didn't matter. But one day when Tora came over... something didn't feel quite right, and it wasn't until Tora left that Calliope had figured it out. Callie couldn't feel Tora's love and affection for Summer! Calliope wasn't sure how to tell Summer. She didn't want her friend to feel heartbroken, but she didn't want them to have a disloyal partner either! But soon, life made the decision for her... It was the night of the Valentine's dance, where everyone would go, have fun, and the best couple would be voted on. The townspeople expected Tora and Summer to win, but... Tora showed up with another cat...Apex. Summer rushed home, quickly followed by Calliope. They were heartbroken. Heartbroken that Tora was cheating, heartbroken that Callie knew...and didn't tell them. They sobbed quietly for a [+]
