Either you love it, or you hate it. Click the tiles and avoid the mines. When a number is revealed, that means there are that many mines in the surrounding 8 tiles. To flag a tile, click the flag at the top of the screen, to return to opening tiles, click the square next to it.
Game gets slower with bigger boards. This was a self challenge to make a game with only one sprite.
