Story ════════════════ ⋆★⋆ ════════════════ Butterflywhisker walked along the thunderpath. Her three kits, Lucca, Alex, and Hazel, were bounding up and down. She turned around and smiled. Her mate, Luke, played with the kits. At times, Butterflywhisker felt like Luke was the only one that loved her. Her mother wasn't happy with Butterflywhisker getting revenge on her father Pineclaw, and his mate, Tabbytail. "Are we there yet mama?" said her kit Alex. Alex's pelt had pink like Butterflywhisker, and brown like his father Luke. Butterflywhisker smiled. "Not yet Alex, we have a long way to go." Lucca came closer to his mother. "Are you sure that we can become leader one day?" said Lucca. Butterflywhisker swept her tail around Lucca. "If you work hard enough my little kit."she said. Hazel and Alex were play fighting as Luke walked besides Butterflywhisker. He smiled as they twined their tails together. Alex tackled Hazel. As Hazel fell into the thunder path. Butterflywhisker pricked up her ears. She placed a paw on the thunderpath. She felt the vibrations. "HAZEL!" she shouted. Luke saw what was happening as he grabbed Hazel. Butterflywhisker grabbed Alex by the scruff. Once the monster passed them, Butterflywhisker scowled her kits. "You could have gotten killed." She snarled. The kits bunched up as she sighed. She picked up Lucca and put him on Luke's back. His tiny claws grabbed Luke's back. Luke picked up Alex by his scruff. Butterflywhisker picked up Hazel. They walked till sunset. Butterflywhisker and Luke found shelter by a cliff. Luke sniffed the air. "Rain's on its way" he purred. Butterflywhisker smiled. "Yup, this will be the kits first rain." She settled down on the soft moss that her mate, Luke had found. The kits curled up by her warm stomach. "I'm gonna go catch some prey." He padded away from the den. Hazel stayed curled up by her mother's belly, as Lucca and Alex played fight. A few minutes later, thunder crackled. Butterflywhisker swept her kits close to her stomach. "Mama, i'm scared" said Hazel. "Hush" said Butterflywhisker as she groomed her kit. Luke rushed in carrying a damp pigeon. Butterflywhisker felt a sigh of relief that her mate was safe. He dropped the pigeon in front of Butterflywhisker. Butterflywhisker gobbled up the pigeon as Luke curled up besides her. Thunder crackled and lightning flashed. Butterflywhisker's eyes widen as she saw water start to flow into the den. Luke saw what was happening and picked up Alex. Butterflywhisker picked up Hazel and Lucca stayed close to his mother as they fled the den. Butterflywhisker saw as the rocks on the cliff started to break off. The water rose quickly. Thunder crackled so loud that it startled Lucca. Throwing Lucca off balance. He fell down the cliff. But his tiny claws stayed holding onto the rock. Luke dropped Alex. So did Butterflywhisker. She dropped Hazel and swept her tail over Hazel and Alex. "Sh sh sh, its okay Lucca" soothed Luke. He bent down to grab his scruff. But then thunder crackled. As loud as the Krakatoa volcanic eruption. She could see Pinkheart, Pineclaw, Tabbytail, Mudkit, and Dovestar smirking. The sound was so loud it threw Luke off balance. "LUKE!" shouted Butterflywhisker. She jumped up and sprinted towards the cliff. She saw her mate. The only cat in the world that loves her, fall off a cliff. She saw Luke fall down with Lucca in his jaws. "MAMA!" yelled Lucca. "Sweetie!" Butterflywhisker reached out a paw. But Luke and Lucca were too far down the cliff to be able to reach her. She watched them fall till they were out of sight. She dug her claws into the earth and gasped for air. She turned back to her kits. Alex and Hazel were bunched up together. Butterflywhisker felt her heart break. As all the anger that had once vanished when she met Luke. Came flooding right back to her. And she knew just the cat to blame...
