Hey all, "Mike" here. No not the character, the actual creator. I've got a bit of an announcement outside of my Party Project idea. No lore, no "here's my next idea", just me and some characters I wanna "Fix" As a person with a LOT of characters (Last count I did was 30), I want each and every one to look their best while also being easy to use and animate with. However, some of these characters just don't look right to me, and I feel as if that is effecting how much I use them as a creator. So I wanna share who these characters are and the changes I plan to make to them, those will be down below If these happen to be your favorites, don't worry I'm not outright changing these characters, most of them are just getting an update... well except for 2
From left to right (except for Jade): Flare, Parratroopa, NB: These three don't look bad, however they can be quite tricky to animate with. Similarly, I want to change up there looks, make them a little more cartoony. Since they're related they all have to go together Eavth: Design wise she's perfectly fine, however for her it's the voice that I'm worried about. Unlike Drake and Mike, who have great voices, Eavth got Shelly and that hasn't really stuck with me. I want her to have a different voice, but I'm still deciding on who Yellaknight: He's more minor things, I want to touch up the mask, his gloves, and his shoes Gallslash: If you didn't know, two of my characters have NEVER gotten redesigns. Doctor Dee looks perfectly fine, but Gallslash is getting a bit old and outdated. I want him to look more like a Gallade, similar to how Greg looks like a Chespin. Fun fact, before his redesign, Bomb was the third character to never get a redesign Vibi: I'll be honest, I have no problems personally with Vibi, but her design is a little tricky to use, especially those striped limbs. I also want to slim her down, and maybe make her a bit taller. I also realized this recently, she doesn't actually wear shorts and I should probably change that fact Jade: Jade has never looked good to me, since day one. I want her to be more relevant, but the problem is my mind keeps trying to retcon her into a different species entirely. She's the only female villain and she gets no spotlight, I want to fix that but I also clearly want to change her completely. However I am slowly giving into temptation to just go with what I'm thinking for her And that's it, what do you think? Should I leave them as is (even if I know I won't)? Should I stop being so hard on myself? Should I really just take a break and notice how far I've come since I first started Scratch? Should I stop listening to the voices in my head that tell me I'm not doing enough? …oh wait actually that last one isn't the voices in my head, that's just Mike being a jerk of a boss. The voices in my head are really telling me to let Dark and the others swear and be violent, but we all know Scratch won't let that happen. Anyway, I'm just worried that maybe change isn't the answer here, even if it's what I want. I'm sure I'll start working on these changes after the next wave of Party Project, among other small changes like fixing Jes' ARMS FINALLY, WHY HAVEN'T I DONE THAT YE- *clears throat* Sorry, getting ahead of myself Anyway, that's it BYE
