Lore that I made up: Scratch cat's cool coderia opened up in 2015. It shut down a month later due to complaints about the animatronics acting strange for the night guards. 2 years later, they opened a new coderia, with toy animatronics. The old scratch cat still resided inside of parts and service, just more broken down and withered. The place shut down due to the toy animatronics malfunctioning often, and all the toys and animatronics were moved to the town's public storage unit. In modern day, many years later, one of the old animatronics (scratch cat) snuck into your house.
