Chapter 3 “Ellie?!” my dad exclaims as I rush though the door “Where’s Rose?” he inquires as I bolt up the stairs and into my room. Locking my door, I flop on my bed and punch my pillows again and again until all anger is gone and all I can do is sink to the floor and cry. I hear my dad yell outside my door, I hear him call someone, and I hear him demand I come out, but all I can do is sob. I don’t know how long I lay there but finally I can sit up and sip the morning’s water on my bedside table, my dad appears to have given up and gone away. After a while a get up and log on to my computer to play games. “Dad?” I call as I walk downstairs. “Ellie, you can not do that ever again. Do you understand?” he snaps getting up from the kitchen chair and marching over, “Do what? Get stressed?” “No, I mean don’t do that screamy crying thing again.” He says as though it’s a perfectly reasonable request to ask. “Dad I don’t intend to get upset!” I say angrily “I didn’t say you do. I merely think that a girl of you age should…” Before he can say what a girl of my age should do the door swings open and mum stomps inside dragging a livid Rose after her. “What is the meaning of this!?” She yells. "I... I'm sorry." I whisper "I'm not cross with you." She says to be before turning to Rose who's stood in the corner trying to wipe away her tears "I'm cross with you." Mum says furiously "Why, what have I done?" My sister cries softly "You left your younger sister alone for a boy! I can't believe you!" The shouting hurts my ears and I wish it would stop, I cover my ears and curl up on the floor quietly and hope it goes away soon. "She did what?" Dad yells "You're fifteen, how could you be so immature?!" "Sorry, I'm sorry ok! Can't you just forgive me?" She sniffs sadly "No, we can't!" Dad notices me curled up "Wait, Ellie what's wrong?" He asks "Ellie what is it?" Mum questions me but I can't talk "Answer your mum. Don't be rude." "Ellie!"
