Using the same tierlist template as the Pizza Tower soundtrack project, I made a list ranking every song in Mario's Madness V2. Remember, this is my own opinion. If you have a different opinion on any of the songs and want to show it, you can remix this project and show your opinions. Some of my opinions and their reasons: Starman Slaughter is lowkey one of the best ones; the melody is really smooth. I love how crazy they went with the metal type for this one. Bad Day is one of my personal favorites just because of how silly it is. I like the SMW motifs in the instrumental and I love the part where Mario starts freestyle dancing. The new version of Powerdown is really impressive; they really upped their game with this song, as well as Demise. Idk if they intended to reference the Game Over poses but if they did I'm glad. Unbeatable is awesome. The ominous feel with the repetitive "YOU CANNOT BEAT US" line is really cool. I like the new melody for Apparition, but the reason it doesn't get the top line is because the vocals are... less smooth then they were before. It's a great song, don't get me wrong, but I feel like they could've improved it a bit; The vocals are more robotic and don't really transition well. After some time listening to Alone V2 I like it a lot better. The beginning was super depressing which was why I wasn't hooked on it at first, and I kind of ignored it until actually deciding to listen to the rest of the song, and the rest of it sounded great! The part with the Mario portrait to the end is my favorite part. The majority of the songs in the "Nice" area are there because I find them good to listen to but wouldn't really want to listen to them if I didn't have to. So stuff like Race Traitors, So Cool and Day Out are some of those kinds of songs. So there's context for ya. Thalassophobia and Dictator are ok. Slower/quieter songs aren't really my thing though in terms of FNF songs. No Hope just sounds really weird to me. It's real slow and the quick note patterns are kinda jank. Like I said before, slower songs aren't my thing. It's cool in its own way, but I don't prefer stuff like this most of the time.
