He was all alone in the middle of the ocean-- somewhere near Hawaii, if his map and compass were correct-- humming softly to himself. He felt like he was at the edge of the universe, with no other life around for miles... It was just him, his boat, the sea, and the sky. And though it was a beautiful night, cool but not too cold with a soft breeze, it was lonely without a companion. But no, it was better this way-- If he had someone to sail with, he'd undoubtedly put them in danger. That was always what happened to anyone who got close to him. And it broke his heart more and more every time. He cast a glance up at the stars, which peppered the sky like the snow that would swirl through the air during winter back home. He shook off the thought of home-- //Don't think like that. It'll drive me mad... Or, I suppose, madder than I already am.// A small islet came into view in front of him, the sand shining white like drifts of snow in the pale moonlight. There was no one on the island, save for possibly a few crabs, or maybe a seagull or two, nestled among the rocks. He sighed quietly, glanced at the stars again, and sailed on.
The stuff in //slashes// was originally italic, but since you can't do italics in the Scratch description, I had to compensate by putting the slashes around the text instead. Based on the song of the same name by Miracle Musical. This was sort of just a test writing-- I wanted to try telling Simon's story in segments based on each song on the album Hawaii: Part II. I tried to include references to the lyrics, as a little nod to the song. I wasn't sure what "snow" meant in the title of the song, but I tried to incorporate it into the description of the stars and the sand. If I decide I like this, I might make more. Let me know if you'd like to see that! If I make more, I'll be posting them on TH: https://toyh<DELETE>ou.se/RavenTheWolf9/literatures
