Lore I guess: In the Early 50's sometime after the second world war, the EFR(The East-Farberbrough Railway) decided to make themselves a set of small tramway/colliery engines to dispatch through out britain in hopes of them being used in mainly the Midland and Northen Regions and maybe the Southern region as well. As such a prototype was built in 1948, called Darius; after Darius was deemed sucessful, they went on ahead and made the first batch of the now-named "Pests" as they were described as scrawny and scatter along when they travel. 8 of the E1 Pests were built, however without some faults, espically Luke, the 7th built engine of the roster. He was lost in a accident at a steelworks somewhere in the midlands. The class would live out their lives until the EFR decided to build another set of the Pests, calling them the E2's. However Dieselisation had started to pick up and the plan of having the same batch as the E1's quickly dropped as the EFR had to construct only 2 engines for it, not even the other 2 were constructed until they were halted, the ones that were built were Megan and Fletcher. In present day, 4 of the EFR's E1 class(& Prototype) were perserved by the EFR after they were bought back from their areas before being scrapped, 2 of the EFR's E2 class were perserved as well on the EFR as the pests in total do odd jobs around the railway.
